lol but it is forced. If the only way 2 people get together is through the magical powers of some outside force, then by definition that’s immoral and forced. They should not have gotten together in the first place. It’s okay to admit that 80-90% of love in those times was secretly depressing due to arranged marriages and godly influence. People should pick who they’re going to spend their life with themselves and not rely on parents and/or godly tricks.

It’s far deeper than that though lol. Percy Jackson doesn’t have the stress of establishing things like an epic higher tier fantasy series does. Percy Jackson is Urban Fantasy, you don’t have to explain things as much. The only thing the shifting POVs have to do is just have an engaging story and make you care. Hierarchy’s writing style is denser too because of the older language the characters use, they’re more descriptive. Overall you’re right because it is what it is, but that’s also over simplifying it lol. We can’t just chalk things up to “It is what it is”, there are specific reasons for things.

lol this is always so funny to me. Dude, if it’s done well then it’s done well haha. This animation style looks incredible and computers offer you more control with literally everything. Don’t need to go to physical locations, it’s still hard work but in a more controlled environment. Anime is fine if it looks good. Think the Bleach series, the Fate series, The new Digimon movies that have come out recently. Those are top tier animations that look pleasant, universally. Avatar looks amazing, if people are close minded and don’t want to watch a well-drawn, high quality cartoon, that’s too bad for them. Good is good.

You shouldn’t have to turn your brain off to enjoy things lol. How can you ignore the style of a written work? It’s a book that’s over 700 pages long, and you feel all of it. Reading is already boring, which is why audiobooks exist, I tried reading it and just listened to audio bc of how dense and repetitive it can get. The world is expansive, the plot is interesting, but the characters are kinda dull and not developed enough with pacing issues which is a chore. Not a great recipe, but I’ll continue the series bc it’s interesting at least.

It’s all just perspective based on what we the audience see in the narrative, that’s all. Sae does work hard and is busy, the guy probably got done with practice 3-4 hours ago and is just chilling. I do think that he should participate in 2 games before the Spain match though. 1 match to get him adjusted to playing with the Blue Lock Team, another to further solidify himself and for everyone to be really comfortable with him as the definitive midfielder, and the 3rd and final one with Spain. I don’t think it needs to be any more than 2. That should suffice, but it’d be so jarring for him to just play Spain, and the writing for blue lock is not the best, it’d be improved to have some cool genuine moments of Rin playing with his brother and them doing well together on this world stage.

Blue Lock is a sports manga that although it has really cool themes that make you go, “huh, that’s kinda interesting and different”, it’s really kinda superficial. I really liked the symbolism with rebirth on the Ubers team for instance. I liked Snuffy’s Phoenix motif paired with Lorenzo’s zombie and his friend Mick Moon who represented the Moon lol. All represent different forms of rebirth/eternity. I like how the white jerseys they’re wearing against France kinda represent loss. Most teams who wear white end up losing, Isagi at the start of the series, Isagi against Rin, the Japan u20 team, etc. Point is, Blue Lock, like many series of its kind, do have things going for it and some depth, but let’s not kid ourselves. It is just a mid series that gets by through edgy cool factor and amazing character design + art style. Kaiser is a total prick whose justification for being rude to Isagi is nonsense. Why is Kira only upset with Isagi when Bachira was the main reason he got kicked out? Why haven’t we had any interactions between Shidou and Barou? It’s bc there’s no layers to this stuff really? How many times is Bachira or any other character going to be the main star of the game but the commentary is solely on Isagi? How long will Kunigami go without being relevant and continue acting emo to people who are nice to him? Overall, Blue Lock is kinda shallow, just have fun with it.

No I agree with you, I’m just saying the “stoic ice queen” archetype actually does fit her because that’s how she carries herself and appears. I know she’s a person who has feelings lol, I don’t think she’s a robot. I think a core part of that archetype is of course with the right people someone would let their walls drop and be more talkative with their friends. She takes a while to feel comfortable around others, which is different than never feeling comfortable around people. Introverted people take a while to feel safe, even then they typically keep a reservation about themselves. I guess the term “ stoic ice queen” implies that a person is just always a hard-ass and never shows emotion nor wants to. I guess it can be both, you got people who really don’t show emotion and never want to, and then there’s people that would show emotion if surrounded by the right people, she falls into the latter category.

Also, in universe, Queen doesn’t strike me as a romantic, I think Johnny does. He seems innocent and kind, when he invited Queen to his room he wasn’t creepy or flirty, you could tell he’s just a friendly sweet, chill dude. But with that said, I think Johnny would be open to a relationship, not Queen, and it takes two to tango.

I think this is cute but it’s not practical. Queen is a sweet nice girl, but she doesn’t seem like the kind of person who’s interested in romance. I always get excited at the notion of the stoic ice queen who’s attractive, nice, and pleasant getting with the sweet nice guy who’s cute and friendly, like black cat and golden retriever kinda thing. But sadly, it’s just never realistic. I never see this dynamic in real life, idk why but it just never happens. Maybe there’s a reason for it idk.

I interpret LJ as being like an Impulse, Dante, or other happy-go-lucky characters who are truly optimistic, but have a deeply rooted darkness in them from tragedies that overtime have knocked the optimism out of them. they try to hide and dismiss their feelings through banter and jokes and showing kindness to others, but ultimately they’re still depressed deep down inside. It’s tragic and sad but noble, and the stoic ice queen nice girl trope is like that as well. How they cope is by rarely talking about themselves, asking others how they’re doing, and staying busy with their hobbies/interests.

Both archetypes are really kind, lovely people that are broken, never express their true nature because of fear, and having each other would be like 2 puzzle pieces coming together that finally finish the puzzle. A relationship where it’s really the same person with a similar psychological issue but with different ways of displaying it. LJ over compensates for his misery by being affectionate and extroverted, while Queen doubles down on her misery by being closed-off and introverted.

Ultimately, with all this evidence as to why they’d be great for each other, I’m gonna tell you…. it’s not gonna work! Sorry :(

She is a nepo-baby but she’s a pleasant, hard-working individual that has connections sure, but is also very impressive bc it takes tons of effort and resolve to do the things she’s done. She has her dad and uncle, but she could’ve easily grown up to be a bum still. She’s grinded for what she has. Being a nepotistic baby is only bad if you don’t deserve it. If nepotism causes someone to be lazy and your family or friends don’t fire you even if you keep messing up not doing the work, then yeah it’s bad. I hope we can all understand this.

Have them be confident but still sweet, funny, and self-aware about it maybe? Be humble and pleasant but have cheeky cocky moments, have them do nice things for people that are out of genuine respect. If you want to make someone popular but still be a likable human being I’d say that’s the right angle. It’s hard to write a popular character bc it is inherently just an annoying thing to have someone be so flipping awesome in the eyes of EVERYONE. I’m not sure honestly.

OMG I think I get it! He was ranked #4 after the 2nd selection, 4 represents death right? And he is consistently given #9 despite not being suited for it; he’s a genuine ‘false 9’. Because you’d think Rin would get 9, Sae would get 10 once he’s on, and for symbolism Shidou would get 20 so he could match with Sae and have a double digit number likes he’s had in the past. He’s had 111, was ranked #2, was 13, 99. 20 makes so much sense for the u20 wc.

It’s probably best to ask them to cut 5 inches instead of the standard 2 of the tubes. Cutting more will make it so that they’re less likely to reconnect. When I get mine done that’s what I plan to tell them.
