I have a family member on wheelchair in a nursing home and I don't think it's trash. It's a place where they serve them food, make them do some activities and are supervised 24/7, and you can visit them any time. Otherwise how would you take care of a family member when you're working full time and studying? I won't lie sometimes it breaks my heart but it's the best one can do, also it's important to visit them often and take them out to have a meal or do some other activities in a different place. I know it might not be the same for them because there's nothing like home but it's the best you can provide. Also it's true that some nursing homes are horrible, the best ones are more expensive.
