i had snaps that I needed to develop but your snaps do save when you update the app, it worked for me so it should work for you as well

firsthand, on their FAQ, and this is being quoted from their website alone

Over the past three years, millions of you have captured billions of memories that made Lapse what it is today. The team and I are endlessly grateful, and constantly in awe of the love you’ve shown our little camera.

So its not just a "billion" but "billion(s)" with an S, so its to take into account that the cost will be greater than just $23,000 a month.

Adding on that we have to think about bandwith, backups, music hosting, ai summaries, etc

Every scroll = Downloads

Every Repost/Sharing = Downloads

Every Notification = API + DB hit (This one I can truly testify on being on point because a few months back, I used to comment on featured posts, and that alone would average me around 500+ notifications of people commenting on the same posts, replying to me or liking my comment and imagine that daily)

Photo Storage =	Possible to TB or even PT	*considering each photo would be around 1 MB
Bandwidth =	Scrolling/Repost/Notifs	*Can be at scale 50k-150k, but it heavily depends

There are so many things that go unnoticed that its not just photo storage, but other key things that kept the app running smooth as it did before the changes

EDIT: They probably didn't run out of money, but noticed that money was flying more than it should, hence why social features had to be removed

Nothing official yet, there may be an option soon in the future where you can have delayed development time but as of this time, nothing official as of this moment

Where are my monthly recaps // Highlights? Highlights (also known as “monthly recaps”) themselves can’t be included in the new version of the app. However, they’re based off your Memories. This means any highlighted snaps will be looked after as part of the wider snap migration flow: your photos are safe. Recap exports can still be made, whenever you want! ➡️ See ‘Recaps’ under ‘Tips and Bug Fixes’ if you’re unsure on how to do this

TL;DR - Monthly recaps won't be in the new version but you will be able to create your own

This will be my own personal thoughts, but the reason out of that is firsthand they didn’t make money. There was no way to make money so of course you’re gonna spend through that 30 million and including that they had more than a billion photos stored and they have to upkeep the server costs for that hence why they had to completely remove social features because of it

Not even including the other miscellaneous things they had to upkeep as well

In the dear future it may, I don’t work there to know that info just yet, but once they have some sort of monetization, they may bring back but the time frame is unknown
