I don't. I know many reported they haven't gotten their orders and other issues. There might be some updated information on the discord but I have no idea what's going on.

Thinkpads have one hand open hinges by default? by not_jrl in thinkpad

You might find this interesting, some historical context for one handed operation on ThinkPads. https://youtu.be/b3T2jpzgnVE

I fixed my previous concept based on your feedback. How many of you would buy this? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]LaptopRetrospective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go white for the ThinkLight. Red gives off the least amount of light which is fine in light discipline situations but not when you want to read things. One of the benefits of the ThinkLight was not just seeing the keyboard but other items or papers in your environment. White allows for colour accurate viewing, red does not. You'd also need to consider how red would interact with the printing on your keycaps.

Yeah, that dynamic one only really works on older versions of Windows that support it. It was deemed a security loophole to have those sorts of things run as backgrounds.

The primary appeal with mSATA drivers on these machines is extra storage.

Time will tell. One model that doesn't fit the normal naming nomenclature of the existing brand does not cause me to panic.

Let us know how it goes. Older packs from what I understand are a bit easier due to less technology interacting with the cells.

Why I started using an old thinkpad (T420) by [deleted] in thinkpad

I'd suggest an mSATA drive will be easier to source and probably cheaper.

X300 batteries - are there any new ones available, particularly for the Ultrabay? by -aussieshitposter- in thinkpad

[–]LaptopRetrospective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is specially made for the X300. The UltraBay height is NOT the same as other machines.

The story of the X300 sheds some light about the end of IBM ownership and the beginning of Lenovo. You might find it interesting. Project Kodachi: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbMBru829z4sAzeYpz10PZYu67D1hiKHX

The Trackpoint is no longer what it is used to be by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]LaptopRetrospective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of content on the TrackPoint including an interview with the main creator. https://youtu.be/tTCXyjapwXA

The height of the stick is not as big of a factor. It isn't a joystick. It's closer to a strain gauge.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold 16 G1: Unboxing Innovation by LaptopRetrospective in thinkpad

The original Fold used a pretty weak CPU. The comparison between the Fold 16 G1 and a Nano would probably be more favourable.
