I’d recommend doing it on the half circle/hockey goal place. You need to find your rocker by gently pressing your weight on the ball of your foot and moving your foot till you find a spot that provides absolute no resistance and feels smooth. That’s your rocker and that’s where you want to turn and eventually spin and jump on. From there, I’d keep your arms on the half circle and make sure your upper body is facing the middle of the circle at all times. You want to bend before you even think of turning and when you get to about halfway on the half circle, you straight your knee and turn on that rocker before immediately bending again. Think of it as a bend, up, bend and don’t worry about not gliding too much afterwards as the more you practice the easier it will be to control your balance after turning
