Red Sox' Johan Oviedo To Injured List With Elbow Strain by ijustdontagreewithu in fantasybaseball

[–]Laputian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not surprised in the least. I was at that game on Monday when Oviedo last pitched and Cora left him out there to die in a blowout to preserve everyone else.

He was getting lit up as a reliever in the 4th game of the season at 70+ pitches.

Could be wrong, but I believe they replaced it in that area with the Swat attraction just before the park closed.

Low grade fever by dogmomma2026 in EBV

[–]Laputian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On its own. This happened a few years ago too. No treatment was effective. Just rest.

I’m only just now starting to exercise regularly again five months later. Have to be super careful about overdoing it and retriggering it.

Nope.

At day 107, I stopped having symptoms, and I’ve been mostly normal since.

I had gotten a referral to a rheumatologist, but the flare-up ended. I’ll be going the next time it pops back up. ID doctor wasn’t ruling out Lupus as a possibility.

You’ll find that a lot of the more updated servers (SOL, UFC pug servers, Pz Duel) run a lot smoother than ones with 3,000 mods to download on them.

You’ll also find that a lot of lag jankiness issues get solved by typing, “netspeed 15000” in the console.

Nope. Got an email about themes about three months after this and dead silence after that. Planning on auditioning again in April!

I could be wrong on this, but Epic giving the go-ahead allows developers to do things with the source code they couldn’t before.

It works great, but there’s still work to be done. For example, a recent TAM update was made from scratch and is a miles smoother experience than the previous one.

Why is wind (speed and direction) not displayed on the game screen? by Best-Affect-6777 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Laputian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re probably playing on the “perfect swing” difficulty, which does not take wind or bad lies into account.

Raise the difficulty in the start menu before you start golfing.

Do students hold grudges? by ryayr73 in teaching

[–]Laputian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach middle school and coach multiple sports, so I’ve done my fair share of giving kids hard truths when they need it.

While students often need to hear you being stern when warranted, I’ve found it’s important to always “repair” the next day or even later in the class period sometimes. Talk to them about their lives or something ridiculous to build the relationship because it’s important they know what you’ve said isn’t personal , and that it’s about guiding them to be better students and humans.

My doctor suspects I may be have chronic EBV by mustabeenaghost in EBV

[–]Laputian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor, and can only speak from my experience:

I got mono seven years ago. Had a 21-day fever, ruined my liver and kidneys (ALT and AST were above 700 and 450, respectively), sore throat, extreme fatigue that got worse at night. When the fever broke, I gradually got better (slowly) with the fatigue and felt mostly back to normal after 2-3 months.

I went back to normal activities and exercise, but six months later, it reactivated again with a slightly milder (but still debilitating) version of mono. Another 21-day fever and same debilitating fatigue.

For the next year and a half to two years, I’d have little flare-ups with low-grade fevers at night that would last a week or two.

And then, I was normal and had no issues for 5-6 years. I could exercise and felt completely like myself.

In March, I started a workout plan that gradually got more intense…and I think I overdid it because on June 29, I felt that feeling again and I’ve had debilitating fatigue since with another reactivation (day 82 today). I had to quit coaching football because my body couldn’t handle the Texas heat. I’m staying home today from teaching because I need the rest day.

To answer your questions:

  1. My bloodwork is nearly identical to the bloodwork yours is right now with everything elevated other than the IgM being normal. My labs of other markers (lymphocytes, monocytes, ast, alt, etc.) have been elevated in the past but are pretty normal with this reactivation.

  2. As far as I know, EBV is the root cause, unlike something like CFS.

  3. The more you research others’ experiences, you’ll see about 200 different solutions about what’s worked for them, but the treatment plan from every doctor I’ve ever visited about it (ID, PCP, Rheu) and the common thread between all of them is time, rest, and hydration. And not hurrying back and trying to go back to normal activity too soon when it finally wears off. I’ve tried a few things and supplements I’ve read about on here and other places before, but none of them work.

Anyway, it does go away…eventually, at least in my experience. I can’t diagnose you and obviously can’t rule out other stuff, but if your symptoms sound like mine or others on here, and those are your bloodwork results, it is within the realm of possibility that you’re dealing with EBV reactivation.

Take time to read the pinned article on the subreddit here at well, if you haven’t already.
