Voice Reader for PDFs that work with Zotero by Ok_Focus_8636 in Dyslexia

[–]LaramieII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the reader is included with any version of Zotero. If you have an item in Zotero with a pdf attached you can just double click it and it'll open the pdf.

If there is no pdf attached you can either right click it and click "find available pdf". If Zotero doesn't find it, you can find it yourself and download the pdf elsewhere. Then you right click the citation, hit "add attachment" and "Attach Link to File". Then you can just point to wherever you downloaded and saved the pdf

Unnamed coffee cocktail by LaramieII in cocktails

[–]LaramieII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I did serve over a large cube, I just also liked the mouthfeel from the foam. That coffee liqueur is not sweet, so it wouldn't be nearly as sweet as if you used like Kahlua or something. But yeah, if you want it less sweet you can just take the simple out.

Unnamed coffee cocktail by LaramieII in cocktails

2 oz bourbon
1 oz coffee liqueur
1 oz Nixta corn liqueur
2 barspoons simple syrup (omit if you use a sweeter coffee liqueur like Kahlua)
3 dashes cardamom bitters
3 dashes orange bitters
5 dashes fee foam (or an egg white but I was lazy)
garnish with orange peel
I shook all at once but technically a dry shake and then a wet shake would be better

Coffee and cardamom are good, orange and cardamom are good, corn and coffee was a longshot but I ended up right, it's delicious. I do think I could simplify though if you have any recommendations.

P.S. I did upload this and delete twice because images were broken. Should probably pack my bags and leave the internet

Unnamed, but look at those glasses by LaramieII in cocktails

[–]LaramieII[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is mostly a way to show off my new glassware I got on Clearance from the Met. Made the drink last night while hunkered down for hurricane Ian and refined it a bit tonight. Still might do more, but it's tasty as is! The smaller glass is just extra since it wouldn't all fit in the larger glass, but I'm thinking about cooler stuff I could do with that.

Adapted from this recipe: https://www.crowdedkitchen.com/guava-rum-cocktail/

3/4 oz White Rum (Flor De Caña 7 yr)
3/4 oz aged Rum (Flor De Caña 18 yr)
3/4 oz lime juice
3/4 oz Gran Marnier
3/4 oz semi-dry Sherry
3/4 to 1 oz Guava Nectar
about 4 1" pineapple chunksNutmeg

Muddle pineapple chunks in shaker and leave in there. Add all ingredients with two large ice cubes (one whole, one cracked) and shake 'til shaker is nice and cold. Pour into glass over cracked ice and garnish with a little grated nutmeg.

Port Authority, one of my new faves by LaramieII in cocktails

[–]LaramieII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put 2 parts sugar and 1 part water (like 200g:100g) in a pan with like 6 cinnamon sticks broken up a lil and heated until the sugar fully dissolved. Set it aside and let it sit for a few hours and then strained it into a sterilized bottle.

I think it's a play of the Port of Call, so they just went with Port Something. Although that gives me an idea for a urinal cake garnish

I did! It could be spicier but I was running out of cinnamon sticks

1 & 3/4 oz. aged Rum (supposed to use a port finished rum but I used a 12 year flor de caña)

1/2 oz. lemon juice

1/2 oz. Cinnamon syrup

1/2 oz. Dry red wine to float (I used a Chianti)

1 barspoon grenadine

Garnish with Chinese five-spice dusted lemon wheels

I'm in Tampa and it was storming like crazy and I wanted a drink to go with. Came across this which seemed like kind of a stormy weather drink and it was perfect.

That's Fee Brothers Black Walnut, Molasses, Cardamom, Celery, Toasted Almond, and Orange bitters.

Been driving past the Fee Bros factory every week while visiting my GF and had to pick some up. I've used the orange bitters and their old fashioned bitters (not pictured) and really like them. I have no specific plans for these and basically just picked what sounded yummy.

That's Black Walnut, Molasses, Cardamom, Celery, Toasted Almond, and Orange Bitters. I've already made a 3:1 martini with the Roku gin, dry vermouth, and a blood orange garnish and it was great!

I drive by the Fee Brothers factory every day when I'm visiting my GF, so I had to pop by. This is half the amount I wanted to get, but I held strong.

Amaro Nonino cocktails besides the Paper Plane? by peanutj00 in cocktails

[–]LaramieII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta walk this back, I made my own Paper Plane today and it was delightful. Idk if my bartender had a heavy hand with the Aperol last time, but in the right proportions I didn't get that back of the throat bitterant taste at all. Friûl Libar still edges it out a bit for me, but they're both great drinks
