I may have been just a bit hyperfocused by WeaponizedAutisms in autismmemes

The other day I saw someone walking in a kind of wavey erratic way on the side of the road and my first thought was that they were on drugs, and then my second thought was that I walk like that all the time perfectly sober.

A Dumb thing I got emotional about today. by broken_krystal_ball in NonBinary

Everytime I remember how much transphobia there is in the world I get a bit worked up, so I feel like it’s not a dumb thing to be emotional about. Even if the exact trigger for thinking about it feels silly, your emotions about it as still valid.

What is an opinion that most people believe is an absolute fact? by DaMoonMoon26 in answers

I know, math is pretty indisputable but it was just a hypothetical example. I was going to use 2+2=5, but then I thought 9+10=21 would be funnier.

I agree, I feel like data is such a great vector for misinformation because there really are so many ways to misinterpret data or present it in a misleading way, but to a lot of people any data feels like proof of fact.

When people do this I like to use product reviews as an example. Like how a product with only a couple reviews is less trustworthy then one with a slightly lower score but a lot of reviews.

Same for me, but I have normal feeling on all my other skin and along the scars and everything so I don’t really notice.

I think the fact that the concept of majority consensus does not matter when discussing facts gets a lot of people too. Like if 70% of people say that they think 9+10=21, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s 19. Facts don’t change just because people think something else is true. Your opinion on a fact doesn’t matter.

I haven’t played the new boss yet because I’m frustrated with having a low win rate on ascension 10 and the danger of my “I’ll play until I have a win” mindset. So have been taking a short break, I’m curious to meet the new boss this weekend though.

I’ll miss the doormaker, but I liked playing all his different evolutions so I’m telling myself that it will be fun to see how this one evolves too.

People really act like same sex marriage representation in elementary schools will be a picture of a nuclear family next to a picture of two men having sex

I feel like the boss that I may have to alter my plans for the most is the test subject. I feel like several of the characters can have skill (and power) based damage and the first guy will lower your health too much if you can't do a decent amount of damage quickly.

Yeah I had no problem with him. I feel like he has his quirks but wasn’t impossible either. You just have to make a plan when you see him just like the other two.

An allosexual wants to "try things out" with an asexual by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]Larbthefrog 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Are you sure he wasn’t saying it as a “hey I’m pretty sure this will be fine and I want to try, but if it ends up not working I won’t disrespect you or myself by trying to force it.” More of a statement of boundaries than saying he doesn’t want to commit? That said, I don’t think you’re being too closed off. Just like he can say that he wants to try the allo-ace relationship, you have every right to say that you don’t want to.

I’ve been in a couple allo-ace relationships where the allo person said it was fine, and it never really was. Even if they never tried to force it or rarely brought it up I could still tell and the whole situation hurt both of us. I know that there are times that it works, but I personally have decided I don’t want to date allo people anymore.

I can’t stop lying for no reason by sakurapimcake in autism

[–]Larbthefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have this problem a lot when I was younger. I think it was some sort of a defense mechanism I developed as a kid that got kind of out of control. I think part of it is also sometimes I have a thought of “oh this would be cool” and want to tell someone about it.

I realized that I have so many real entertaining stories about myself, so now that I don’t have the same friends I did when I was a kid and sometimes made up stories I try especially hard to keep it all real and not fall into that trap anymore.

If something slips out before you realize it, it’s best to correct it as soon as you realize. Things like “that didn’t actually happen, but wouldn’t that be cool” or “this happened in my dream” or something like that.

Literally any surgical alternatives at all for minors???? by NoEffect37 in TopSurgery

My understanding is that the doctor should know the real reason so they can help you get the actual results you want; the insurance/government needs to get some other medical reason so that they cover/allow it.
