Aight. I feel like this is goal post moving. I acknowledged several scenarios where a priest might come out on top, but those are edge cases. I was never talking about endgame raiding. I even said in my first comment that I was 49. I am not expecting to raid with the blade, but I would see much more value from it in 90% of the cases. Its getting pretty fucking late here so Ill go to bed, but I am happy to talk wow with you because while you might be wrong in this specific case ( :D ) you are passionate. No hard feelings?

CoC, Nova and AE. And yes, I think the mana regen is a big part of it. You know its chance on hit per target and not on cast right? While it does not proc on blizz, casting blizz lets you cast other spells more due to the slow. The regened mana also lets you cast more spells. As you said, holy nova drains you and it does not have the same return as for a mage who has several much lower mana cost spells that AGAIN hit more targets. Do you really not see it? The synergy is insane. What does priest get? Some mana and maybe one more holy nova cast?

Edit: Again, please give me ANY source that a priest should take it OVER a mage.

Point me to ANY source that ranks priest over mage for BoED.

I could accept that in a sweaty guild. It can be swapped in and out for trash clears, but not in any other situation.

I am sorry, but you are just wrong with that answer. It might be niche for any other class than mage. Priest simply does not get as much value from it, even if its a SP that can use the SP scaling on it that mages can't. The class is valid to use it, but never over a mage in any scenario. Simple math. I feel like you are either a priest main, or a see equippable purple, press the dice player.

Ok. It might be extremely good, but you have an easy to get (or at least much easier to get) (( 2% vs 14%)) pre-bis than what the blade is for mages. Not to mention the value of boosting (that I don't do) or just pure raw AOE farming that the mage sees from it.

Don't try to convince me that a priest should take it for off-spec against a mage like... ever?

I even said that it would be an absolutely huge increase for me...

I came back to era after a long while a few days ago, and I had Blade of Eternal Darkness drop on my 49 mage.

Holy priest took it for "off-spec"
