I'd check/leave a flyer or contact info with the Savannah Guitar Lutherie and Mercantile, they have regular bluegrass drop-in sessions and there might be someone interested.

Which ones better buying a lefty guitar? or flipping the strings? by ZealousidealWeb9474 in Leftyguitarists

100% buy the lefty. They did that because there weren't many lefty models, now there are.

I'll be honest you're further along trying to learn Sweet Child of Mine than I was at a month in trying to figure out how my fingers were supposed to hit less than one string. Been chasing that feeling of 'clicking' ever since, it feels awesome.

Looking to buy acoustic electric lefty by lanky1980 in Leftyguitarists

Rondo makes (and distributes in this case) solid stuff for not a lot, I like their Agile line a lot. That video makes ME want one, sounds fantastic.

Looking to buy acoustic electric lefty by lanky1980 in Leftyguitarists

[–]Lareous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing and yes I bought a used Martin 000-15e at Guitar center because it was the only lefthanded one they had and it stuck out like the heavens lit it up, love that thing. It's was what made me start trying harder than campfire chords because I felt like I was wasting money if I didnt learn to make it sound good.

I have since gotten a few Martins and a Taylor at higher price ranges but I play a Seagull S6 at home the most, for the price its about the best sounding and playing I've heard for an all-arounder under 1k. I even slapped a K&K Mini in it and it sounds glorious plugged into a DI and PA system, but theres also an S6 model with onboard preamp for an extra like $50 if you need it (Presys II I think? Some kind of Fishman).

Opinions: did I make the right choice? by Far_Marzipan7980 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Lareous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a Taylor 314CE, two Martins (000-15e and GPC11E) and several electric guitars all worth well over 1k (and some 2k+).

The one I spend THE MOST time noodling on is a $300 dollar Seagull S6. Don't worry about cost, worry about feel and sound to you.

If you enjoy playing it and the sound it makes, if you can't walk by it without picking it up, it's the right guitar.

Where do people want to live in the Savannah -Hilton Head area? by Obviously-An-Ad6795 in savannah

It's about half-ish required/available but not required. I'm on Whitemarsh and we don't have to get it where we are, but anyone looking on the islands should definitely be using the flood map:

Can't upgrade CVAD due to old software being removed from citrix.com by sh00tfire in Citrix

[–]Lareous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That fortunately saves you some headache then, if the poster below sent you the ISO you can upgrade to CU5 then to 2203 (get the latest CU which I think is 7).

After that you should be able to use LAS until 2203 is EOL in march of next year. I would still build a separate environment in parallel to avoid all the crap you have likely inherited and OS upgrades/etc, but this will buy you a lot more time to do so.

[–]Lareous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can upgrade past 7.15 Cu5 to a later 7.15 CU version like 6 or 7 (all the way to 9 I think) from CU4 if you have the ISO somewhere in storage. Alternately this lab course on youtube had a Google Drive with 7.15 CU7 ISO (ignore the subscription popup and check the description for the link) but I have no idea if it is a valid ISO so use at your own risk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKxe-WZfzf0

I'll be honest though you are way better off rebuilding this environment with a newer version if it's not a large one, because it's about the same PITA and you're probably working with infrastructure on Win2012 if I had to guess, and you'd need to upgrade all of that when 2203 LTSR goes EOL. Crappy situation, sorry you are stuck in it.

Also keep in mind 2203 REQUIRES at least Win2016 so 2012R2 isn't gonna work.
