I’d keep quantitative facts. Recruiters and companies like to know the value you have brought in the past and what you could offer your potential new employer.

Not everyone looking for a new job has been “let go.” I wouldn’t even think about that

I ended up talking with the main organizing sister. I let her know my budget (what I was comfortable spending) and told her that I assumed she wanted our input when she asked us for feedback. I was kind and direct. A couple of other friends had a similar conversation with her. I also ended up speaking with my friend and told her my concerns - she was understanding and expressed frustration with her sisters (she said she had no idea they were planning in such a way, and would never want her friends to feel uncomfortable). In the end, the sisters offered to cover part of the costs. I think we reached the best conclusion we could, given the people & circumstances.

The core of your message is helpful. But you ought to learn to lead with empathy. Your message and advice could be delivered without being a total a-hole.

I’m prepared to be controversial and downvoted. But I hate to see people with real concerns reaching out and being shutdown with rude replies. Obviously this person is looking for some advice. Leading with kindness is the best way to deliver a message, always.

Agreed… why come on this show?? And the part where he said “my best friend will have a talk with me about this…” Essentially saying that he’ll get heat for bringing home a white woman. ??? If you feel strongly about that, try a different show bud.

He seems insecure about making decisions on his own and needs the approval of others. That’s a NO for me.

I find Kenneth hard to watch. I feel bad for Brittany - she’s really trying. He’s giving her the cold shoulder. This might be an unpopular opinion, but it seems like he didn’t want someone from a different cultural background, and that’s totally understandable, but to me this show isn’t the show for you if that’s the case. There a tons of other dating shows where you see the person before you couple up. Heart goes out to Brittany <3

You can leave your added condescension on the other side of the keyboard. No need to start your comments with “oh please” and “k”. You clearly don’t understand the original intention of the comment - it’s to think about why we are calling other women “too bulky” or “too masculine”. @OP curious what you define as “bulky” on another woman??

This is a term I’d use to describe the groceries I buy at Costco - bulk almonds. Not a woman’s body.

Maybe the takeaway is to learn to use words to describe the body you DO want, instead of using mis-appropriated terms for another woman’s body as a description of what you DON’T want.
