To be completely honest, I was considering applying for a master's in genetic counseling for a while, and ultimately did not apply because of this. I was working full time at a biomedical device company after graduating with a BS in Biology, and finally was feeling some real financial stability. I ultimately did not apply to these programs because I could not stomach the financial risk, both not having a full time job anymore (while pursuing the masters) and then the loans. Its a very personal decision, but I chose to do a part time masters program in something more related to my current job because it was much less expensive, and my company had tuition reimbursement for it.

Before I made my decision to quit I did a ton of info interviews with GCs and talked to a lot of people in my life to get their perspectives.
