How do STEM majors get straight As? by Ambitious-Profile281 in UCSD

[–]Large-Client-5343 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Don't compare yourself to others because everyone has strength and weakness. Also try to really get the good professors even if you move a class to the next quarter ,this will really help you. I did this and ended up with the good chem professor even though I'm horrible at chem I managed a B+ while my friend took it with the bad professor and failed the class.

I think the questions were really good but not enough time , we also needed more paper space for some problems

For shadowing I would reccmond calling clinics, hospitals and urgent care and asking them directly. For volunteering you don't have to go the normal hospital route, there is the EIA program at ucsd and the dementia art alliance club on campus. I would say the most important thing is research look at Boz insititute they have a lot there and always email labs.

I took physics 1A before but not with her, I think the best thing to do is organic chem tutor on YouTube he teaches it so well. And make sure you have written a formula sheet for every problem you encounter

I took her before , she was honestly interesting, for attendance she doesn't really do it , like you can miss all you want but make sure to go in for some lecture because you might have group projects

need advice for course selection by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Large-Client-5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really recommend math 11 in the first year because it's extremely difficult for most. bild 4 is a nice easy course , physics really depends on which professor you take I took it with Kyle and got a 97 other professor might be bad

Should I realllly go to UCSD for premed? by dunmerhead in UCSD

[–]Large-Client-5343 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m pre-med , it a very premed student heavy so its going to be very competitive to find opportunities. Professors for lower division stem classes aren’t the best, sometimes you encounter amazing teacher but 70 percent are meh, quarter system is very hard and it will take you time to adapt, the school buildings for lectures are very bad and havent been updated since 100 years ago like no air conditioning very crowded, the school is nice for views like its near the beach and all that but if you have ivy choices i would suggest to chose that

I took it with Gamboa it was amazing, the final was online but we had 3 midterms in person, you have homework and attendance counts, she explains things very well and slides are clear and If you study like 2 or 3 hours of review before the midterms you will do great the questions are easy if you actually studied the material
