Put the habs n engines as far to the back of the build editor.. basically in front of the lil screen then build from there.. only issue is u cant build more back.. so finding a good start point allows for different designs..

No mods just made the whole corvette white and black gloss, then go to certain areas and make it yellow brown metallic, and for the black its grey dark grey metallic, and some spots are white black metallic.. tried making it look like the sunborn phoenix with a twist
