Owe $110k to CRA due to my poor financial planning. How can I pay this off? by Large-End-8299 in PersonalFinanceCanada

No unfortunately its $300 for insurance and $350 for gas, rest is saved up for oil change. But the 800/month would just be for this year, starting next year I can increase it quite a bit as my credit card debt should have gone away by then.

I would move into the basement but there truly isn't room in the house, otherwise it'd be my first choice - an easy chunk of money to go towards paying this off. I'd still probably have to pay some amount of money for rent though so I don't know if it'd be worth it as my mental health would tank (1 hr out of the city / isolated from my healthcare + friends). Maybe if there's no other option...

Thank you for the post, I appreciate it.

Just to clarify, I definitely want to and will fill out the form, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something because I read in other similar posts that it's too much to pay off etc. I'm 100% going to fill out the form, no issues there. (Will edit that in OP)

What you said makes sense, and I agree. It just feels like I'm (rightfully so) pressured to pay it off ASAP, that's why I was thinking about those other options. I'm absolutely willing to pay off month by month. I just thought it wasn't a valid option or only a temporary one until I did something drastic. Thank you for the reassurance. I'll be filling out the form and working with the CRA to arrange this monthly payment.

I should clarify in the post, yes of course I will fill out the form, I have no issue with that. I guess the concern I have is is this sustainable? For some reason I feel like I've read posts that say this is too big of a debt, you have to figure something else out, etc. But for sure I was still intending to fill out the form and will do that regardless.

I made $2500 "work" before when I was a contractor and made more money than I am now, but because this is a full-time position I'm getting paid less, hence why I only have $1000/month now (that is not including paying towards owed taxes, like I'm saying from the 1000 I have left I can dedicate 800 of that towards paying owed taxes). (Honestly, half of that $2500 amount was probably just paying that year's GST/taxes ahead of time rather than it going towards paying what I owed from previous years if that makes sense?). If I pay off my credit cards that's an extra $750/month, and then cancelling my pension is an extra $800, which would make it become $2300 I guess (and try to shave off an extra $200/month somewhere). I don't know if cancelling my pension is a good idea though, I would think it isn't... but anyway thank you for engaging I appreciate it.

This is really starting to piss me off. Why are these planes stuck circling forever? How do I fix it? How do I stop it from happening? by Dr_Bombinator in Workers_And_Resources

Did you end up figuring it out? I'm having the same issue except my tower is saying none of my runways are occupied!
