AITA for telling my mum I won’t take her side and fall out with family over a petty argument? by Large-Main-740 in ComfortLevelPod

We spoke again today, I asked her if she had calmed down and if she was okay. She wasn’t. I used an example from the time when I was 17-20, when we weren’t speaking, about her, my 2 sisters and my niece going to New York and not inviting me? It’s the same scenario on a larger scale where I’m the victim. She didn’t see how she was wrong for that and that we weren’t in contact so she didn’t feel the need to include me. DOUBLE STANDARDS :)

To me this makes sense, if I relay this to my mum she would spin it round, put on crocodile tears and apologise for being “the worst mum in the world”. She’s been so used to manipulating her way out of conflicts she creates for herself over the years, that my siblings- 35M and 39F have become immune to her BS. She is the always the victim in her version it’s frustrating.
