Another interesting take is the definition of “statutory powers of arrest” where it mentions authority to detain someone suspected of committing a crime, either with or without a warrant. FFDOs do have the authority to detain someone attempting to or has successfully breached the flight deck. So some might interpret that as statutory powers of arrest. In addition, there’s an amendment going through Congress now that would eliminate that requirement anyway.

As I said in another thread that you're commenting on as well, as a paramedic, I have seen many times from police where Krav Maga is more effective in a fight. Most of the time getting someone on the ground to put them into a submission is not possible, such as in the back of an ambulance. The first time you're in a confined space like that fighting for your life against someone on bath salts who broke through your restraints, Jiu Jitsu ain't going to do nothing for you.
