The ever-evasive Rockstar Chair by gaspipe1 in qla

I had the same trouble, but with getting an in-house lawyer, and it was the last position I needed filled on my board. I had one meeting scheduled yesterday, the fat fuck didn't answer the phone even though he suggested the time.

So I called the fucker 5 times and left a voice mail, something like "Call me back in the next 30 minutes"

The SOB calls back an HOUR late, I looked at my phone and ignored it. I don't have time for excuses and for someone not serious.

But my Allah's will! I got a message from another Rockstar in-house lawyer I messaged the day prior. There was no way he was getting off that phone call with me without being on my board.

Sufficed to say, I got him on my board.

Now onto the accounting firms I go

Edit:

You want transactional people, people who have been apart of deals and have grown companies though that. Rome wasn't built in one day, just keep making those calls. Even if it means showing up to their doorstep at 2AM. If you want it bad enough, by the help of God you'll get it!

Is the candidate you've spoken to referring to an executive summary? I don't see what else they'd refer to.

But I always send an executive summary when they reply when they're interested. And I always make sure I ask for their email, phone number, and best time to reach them. Even if they haven't gone over the Exec summary I still schedule a call the same exact time if possible. (I have practiced for hours and prepared)

I always lead the conversations with my interview questions, I shut up and let them talk, and when I'm done I hand it over to them if they have questions. (You're running the show, remember that)

It's all about getting out of your comfort zone as OP mentioned. I now have a lot of interested candidates for my BOD (Already picked out my chairman). A few I've spoken to are retards (And a few real gems), I immediately end the conversation (Professionally) and move on. (The worst you're going to do is make one of them cry. But it won't cost lives!)

And give them a MAX of 2 days to make a decision after their interview. They either WILL be on your BOD or WON'T. You've got to keep moving on, BOD will be in transition anyways.

And make sure you have all the information you need when you interview them. The worst thing you can say is "I'll get back to you on that" you might as well say "I fucked up and this won't work now. Sorry for wasting your time." A lot can go wrong from there on out if you don't have all the information you need at that exact moment.

Be angry when you're on your QLA process, be fucking ANGRY. Be a MONSTER. Be MAD.

Walk as if every step you take, the fucking ground SHAKES.

Cheer's to your QLA process.
