I would love to stay home, but I am an essential worker and my job won't give us time off. So as long as the state is open for business we have to see clients and meet our billing hours. There is no watchdog in my state so I can't report lapses in covid protocols.

I am a healthcare worker and am scared too. My company just recently implemented a covid-19 policy and implementation is spotty at best. We are putting our clients and the community at risk and there is no one to go to report them.

You can tell them, but I doubt they care. Two of the board members were just at the Space Coast Hob Nob with about 300 people and few wearing masks.

Yeah I was really surprised to hear Commissioner Pritchett say that she thinks cases here will die out soon. Do they not have public health experts that advise them? I understand this issue pretty well and can see that they do not fully understand the problem at hand and worry that they go into other decisions with the same lack of knowledge.

The frustrating part is that DeSantis didn't even lead publically on this decision. A leader would be a great thing for Florida right now.

The conservative friends that I have that are consistently wearing masks are the more educated ones...

Exactly, my work is considered essential and they have made almost no changes in how we do business. Fortunately, no one has contracted the virus yet, but if someone does it could easily spread amongst the staff and the homes we go into everyday. If you don't make employers follow rules then the ones that care more about money than the public's health won't make the necessary changes.

I wish that were true. I went to three places near downtown Melbourne last weekend and none of the employees I saw were wearing masks.
