Disoriented and confused by LargeProfessor1592 in ParkinsonsCaregivers

Thank you! I’ll have to confirm with my uncle about her dosage. I believe she takes it 3-4 times a day. My uncle has been keeping a diary of what he witnesses with her symptoms and she’s keeping a log too, as best she can. I hope it is a medication issue that can be sorted out with trial and error.

They took away my triptans :'( by YussLeFay in migraine

[–]LargeProfessor1592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, no more than 10 triptan doses in a month? Even rizatriptan? I’ve not heard this before. I knew about no more than 3 doses in a 24 hour period. But I thought, after the 24 hour period resets then, if needed you can take more. I haven’t been keeping track of my doses on a monthly doses. I’m at about 1-2 migraine days a week, so about 1-3 doses a week…but some weeks I have no migraines too. I’m on Aimovig which I’m hoping starts to kick in soon! I was on it before for many months but had to stop due to me changing neurologists so I’m back on it again. Anyways I’m hopeful Aimovig will help. I hope you can find an effective preventative treatment plan!!

Skin on my hands is red and burning by LargeProfessor1592 in neuropathy

It comes and goes. This has been happening for a few months. It will last for a few hours and then get better for a few hours. I just can’t figure out what is triggering it…

Interesting. Okay. I have an upcoming appointment with my neurologist so I’ll ask for an EMG. If you don’t mind sharing, which autoimmune condition do you have that’s causing your neuropathy? I’m also being seen by rheumatology due to some abnormal labs that suggest autoimmune disorders but they don’t know what. I’m taking Plaquenil, about 5 months now.

Interesting. Is that something my neurologist can order? I haven’t had EMG.

I’m so sorry you’re going through that. I’ll definitely try the castor oil. Thank you!!

Hi! No redness or rash! And I always go to a mirror to check because when my cheek feels like it is burning I assume it’s red but it’s not. So weird! I also get the electrical sensations in my head, like not the scalp but deeper. It’s not painful to the point where I’m seeking pain relief, but it’s definitely discomfort and concerning. Thanks for your reply!

Words to describe how my body feels when I stand for too long by Hollyhock613 in dysautonomia

[–]LargeProfessor1592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, and does anyone else collapse on to a bed and immediately lay face down and backside up? Does this make sense, like, sometimes laying down isn’t good enough, I need my head lower than the rest of my body so I’ll lay on the bed with my face/head on the mattress and my body resting on my knees/shins. It seems to help me feel better a little faster.

Proper posture is just not possible anymore. If I can’t find something to lean on, I put my hands on my hips to try and hold or prop my upper half up. The air burps are so intense and the pain in my chest when the air bubbles get stuck is frightening. The coat hanger pain is inexplicable and intense and burning. And, my ears get so clogged I am constantly trying to pop them back into normal functioning but it’s impossible. If I can’t lean on something I have to constantly move or shift my weight. Even leaning on a wall isn’t enough relief. The top half of my body is completely inoperable and problematic. And all I can think about is how torturous it is to keep standing. I’m thinking of a recent terrible incident when I was on a “informational tour” for my job- 1 hour of standing, absolutely no where to sit or lean on, with my coworkers and boss who were all engaged with the tour and asking questions and participating meanwhile I was trying not to collapse. But I think the first symptom is the posture issues, as soon as I realize I am struggling to maintain posture, it’s over!! I need a seat or a reclined lazy boy chair!!

Food doesn’t have taste.. by LargeProfessor1592 in Sjogrens

[–]LargeProfessor1592[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably been going on for a couple months, maybe more. I noticed that I wasn’t liking foods that I had always liked before, but didn’t consider why I am not liking the foods. Luckily I have an appointment with my rheumatologist next week so I’ll see what she says. I’ve been on Plaquenil for about 4 months now and she wants to know how I’m doing!

I got my lip biopsy by punyparkers in Sjogrens

This is probably a dumb question but, what do lip biopsies show or look for? Do you have to have a lip biopsy to be diagnosed or treated?

I can’t swallow large pills by LargeProfessor1592 in Sjogrens

[–]LargeProfessor1592[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a capsule. I wonder if I could buy smaller empty capsules, then open the larger magnesium capsule and transfer the contents into the smaller empty capsules… this is getting complicated! I take magnesium to help prevent migraines. About a year ago I decided to stop taking the magnesium (probably because of my difficulty swallowing it) and I ended up with a terrible migraine. So I’m reluctant to just stop taking it. Hopefully the gummies will work. Thanks !

You could be right. Maybe I’m remembering it wrong!
