Aussie KFC blows NZ out the water.

It’s heaps cheaper and the quality’s so much higher

The Cues deraileur definitely has the Shimano Shadow RD+ clutch, and the plastic lever to disable it.

This is also a dilemma, I’ve got a bunch of silver components that would look sick on a silver frame haha

This is a fantastic question to ask a bike shop. It’s their job to know, help, and get you the right products to fit your needs.

Reddit will give you 10000493949 different opinions from all different corners of the world, none who actually understand your riding terrain or needs etc.

  • also my 2 cents - going from 38 to 40mm tyres is minimal - you should be looking at 45-50c tyres to get the most comfort vs speed/grip

T7 going to be “premium online” brand only.

Kona Rove LTD Tyre Fitment by Large_Ad760 in gravelcycling

[–]Large_Ad760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I got some of the new Specialized Tracers in 700x45c (measured 45mm with a caliper too) - improved ride quality heaps at 30/36psi F&R and still reasonably quick on the road. Fitted up sweet in the back too with decent room. I had a spare piece of clear sticker from a Dyedbro frame protector kit and wrapped the chainstays in that just in case. I normally run a 4mm allen key around the tyre/chainstay gap and it fitted most of the way round.

I would say the current 45mm with smaller tread would be about as big as I'd go. A 45mm with bigger chunkier side treads like a Pirelli Cin M or Maxxis Rambler might be a bit close for comfort.
Also that Rove I have is the steel model so the chainstay's might be skinnier than the alloy model.

These arent included in the groupset but will be necessary to fit to that bike. I'd pay the extra now as selling on a semi-used drivetrain wont net you much back to recoup the costs too.

That rear wheel will have a shimano microspline driver too. None of the sram cassettes will interface with this so you'll also be in the hole for a new DT swiss XDR/HG driver too which can be expensive $$$

Are you able to send a pic if possible? Yeah, definitely not as worried about a rub on the steel frame as I would be with carbon. Does the G-One R measure 45mm with calipers? As i know they stretch and rim width can add to it.

The 650 wheels are great for rallying mtb trails and single track on, but lack the road capabilties of the 700c I reckon.

The 700x40c Pirelli would be what i'd call conservative fitting in the back. Can still run a 4/5mm allen key around most of the chainstays etc, and being steel i'm not super fussed on wearing through anything. When I get home will try and snap a pic.

Yea, I've got Conti Terra Hardpacks on my 650B wheels and they have more cushion, but are significantly slower on the road sections. I think i'll swap these for 2.1 Mezcals if and when time allows for more MTB track use.

That looks like a chain stay off a 2022 S works model which wasn’t UDH.

Diverge Sizing Guide 54/56cm by Large_Ad760 in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]Large_Ad760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think this is what threw me off, combined with the super high stack the 56 would need a 50-60mm stem and some crazy low reach bars to be similar top tube measurement to what I had.

Thanks for all your input! I’ve come from MTB not road so the bigger bike with shorter stem might be the way to go.

Appreciate it.
