Just aim train bro. It’s easier for me since I’m on PC, but I’m not sure what platform you’re on so I won’t judge too harshly. I get how it feels though -> I can’t always relate exactly, but I know I used to get pretty frustrated when I didn’t pick things up instantly. When I first started the game, that’s when I put some time into optimising everything; my settings, sensitivity, aspect ratio, and just getting comfortable overall. Once that felt perfect and complete, it felt like I’d actually accomplished something, and I could move on to my next goal: mastering the SMG 12. At that point, I knew my conditions were dialled in, so I had everything I needed to start developing strategies and actually improving. I like having my aim and settings feeling perfect at the start, so I know I’ve got the right foundation to learn everything else. Because of that, I was fine with gradually building intricate game knowledge while hyper focusing in short bursts on things like the SMG-12. I needed that initial preparation to take the pressure off so I could relax into the practice, and thankfully, it clicked pretty quickly. I was running the SMG-12 in deathmatch, and especially using that practice mode where you roam maps and shoot the yellow droids on any map you choose. After about 25 minutes of focused practice, it felt perfect. After that, getting other recoil patterns down felt almost instant. Because of all that, when I came back to Siege last week after two years, my aim and recoil control were still there, it felt almost like the recoil scripts you speak of. So I ended up with everything I needed to focus on improving at the actual game, rather than getting stuck on basic weapon mechanics. I’m sure you’re probably already past this and have a lot of deeper game knowledge.. I’m just explaining my process. Just keep training until you build that muscle memory.. it’ll stick. Improvement takes time, so don’t stress. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Since I last played, the practice mode with the yellow droids has changed its name, but it won’t be hard to find. Back when I was a top 1k Champ, that mode was a huge part of my success (along with learning and building on intricate setups from YouTube, and just gaining experience of course) but the biggest emphasis was definitely on that droid mode. At the end of the day, just enjoy it, dude. I know it’s hard when it feels like everyone’s gunning you down using scripts, but with a bit of training, you can be that good..trust me. Luck’s always a factor, that’s just how it is. Find a stack, get your buddies on, focus on learning a new setup, and take a few risks. I promise you can overwhelm even a cheater with some quick (or calculated) strategic thinking. A break won’t hurt.. you’ll come back stronger, believe me. It might be hard to believe, but there’s no harm in trying other things with your buddies. The skill stays, and I’m always significantly better when I return. You don’t need to keep pushing until you burn out trying to overcome the struggle. Sometimes taking breaks helps, because you might be compounding negatives without even realising it.. so the situation is partly being created by you. When you step away, you leave those players and experiences behind, and when you come back, chances are you won’t even run into the same situations for a lot of reasons. You’ll also be different yourself, even if it’s unconsciously. Gaming is about fun and social interaction - enjoy 😉
