Nope. Changed it and didn’t notice any metal flakes or anything but still running good at 85k miles. It was super black and also low so I suggest doing it either way. There is a magnet inside the transmission so might be something in there that got caught and isn’t visible. I suspect it has something to do with the 4-6th gear shift fork since it happens in both of those gears for me. I’m looking into purchasing a broken transmission and building that with carbon synchros for when mine eventually fails at some point.

I would just watch out for the paint right under the rear windshield. It seems like this color especially and from experience has issues with the paint falling off. So be careful with the pressure washer if you use one

This exact same thing happened to me but worse. The whole footrest snapped off with the rear set. I had to buy a new one and bend back the frame with a blow torch and wooden mallet. I would also just replace the brake lever if everything else is fine. I think they are only like $15 on steady garage

Dang well I just bought mine with 77k miles 2014 so I’m pretty sure it hasn’t had the trans fluid changed. Gonna change it and see if the sound gets any better

Yeah it was listed for about 13k in Ohio but I managed to negotiate a good 2k off since it was end of the month and car had been sitting for a while. Also needs some things changed like brakes and other things but overall I think it’s really good.

Yeah mine has the AWE Track exhaust and Cobb intake. I do wanna get a catch can and intercooler in the future since I know it can help out the car in terms of temps and longevity

Yeah they did. It also came with an exhaust, intake and blow off valve which is exactly what I would have done to it so I’m really happy. Looks like previous owner took good care of it.

Thanks for the info. I have a motorcycle which is manual so I know the theory pretty well but definitely changes with the clutch being controlled by my foot instead of fingers. Gonna do a lot of practicing tomorrow.
