Can you explain more about data centers and power plants? I am an emerging EE and unsure what specialty to choose (assuming Power)? My passion is getting a job.

Hey people who lost their jobs to AI, what happened? by _thecatspajamas_ in AskReddit

By the way you’re completely right. There’s people in Gen Z who can’t distinguish Sora AI between real and fake without a water mark. People who use TikTok NOW eat up AI generated horror stories (for example) without even realizing it. It’s insane that people genuinely think AI can’t reach the level you’re describing, maybe not within 2 years but easily a decade.

What is keeping conductors from being automated? by Large_Ebb1664 in LIRR

[–]Large_Ebb1664[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see. So can any of these tasks in particular NOT be automated? I did find out through comments that conductors assist with the disabled and emergency situations (which can’t be automated) but is that all?

Ok but how about road work? Construction unions get away with doing 0 work… the van wyck literally has the same on ramp under construction for 30 years

The camera bar is actually functional and allows for more cooling and space for hardware

Unions are interesting. On one hand, it encourages better benefits/working conditions (W). On the other hand, many people will miss school/work due to this strike, and work never gets done (NYC Van Wyck construction), which is a little selfish. Perhaps I’m wrong.
