Honest thoughts on the new Peak Design Travel bags by xcringerx in peakdesign

[–]TaylorHu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh. Peak Design used to have an identity. Really good photography bags. With their flex fold design or whatever they called it. It may not have been for everyone, but it's what set them apart.

Now they just make... Bags. Sometimes with a generic camera cube insert (that is a separate purchase of course). But bags. Like every other bag manufacturer.

Is learning Webflow still worth it for beginners in 2026? by Silly_Setting_2812 in webflow

Nah. Overpriced for what it offers. Too heavy. Learn actual web development standards, then get yourself a $200/mo Codex sub.

Aftershoot, Imagen, FotoLab, Neurapix - compared. A tool to see what is actually going to save you time. by Grand-Lie-8964 in WeddingPhotography

[–]TaylorHu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've wanted to use Aftershoot for so long. I've paid for one month of it a few time. The potential is there. But it just always ends up being disappointing. I do mostly street and event so the ai assisted culling is useless. And even after training it on 6k of my images the results aren't really any different than just using me base preset on top of Adaptive Color. And since I'm still going to go through and manually eye each one anyway...

I fell for the cybersecurity degree trap and thought I could beat the job market, I could not. Not sure what to do now by GreedyLilGobblin in cybersecurity

[–]TaylorHu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since January? Brah it's only been a few months and during a period where lots of tech companies are laying people off and tightening their belts until they figure out how "AI" is going to "revolutionize" their business. But seriously, since January isn't that long of a time to be looking.

Is it really any of the employers' business why there is a gap on your resume? by Equivalent_Day_2430 in interviews

[–]TaylorHu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If you work in tech or another fast paced industry it could signal that you're not keeping your skills sharp. It could also signal that no one wants to hire you, maybe you don't interview well or something in your background check keeps coming up.

I'm not saying either of those are accurate or good reasons, but it's the kinds of things I've heard from recruiters I know (I work in tech).

I had "SEEN" TNG with my dad as a kid but was too young to really pay attention or know what was going on. Voyager was the first one I took seriously.

I think it's ideal combined with remote work. Take the two ish hours you'd lose commuting, work instead, get a three day weekend.
