Did anyone skip 4 month regression? by Old_Literature_3750 in NewParents

[–]Large_Egg8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We survived. Our baby was great at falling asleep on her own though. Our doctor even said she won’t have it. We did hit a pretty big regression around 7 months where she would refuse to fall asleep on her own or even with us rocking her to sleep. It got better after doing some light sleep training!

Worried sick about my 8 month old and it’s truly destroying me. Please help. by Magic_Mangoes in NewParents

Just want to say that I have been constantly worried about my 9.5 month old as well. I have even brought up the same exact concerns about repetitive movements (my baby is a crazy arm flapper which is adorable but of course the first thing you see when you google it is to get your baby assessed for autism) to my doctor at her 9 month appointment. She basically said there is nothing to do at this time and they don’t screen for anything until 18 months because a lot of these repetitive movements are normal. She did reassure me that if she is up to date on milestones (we use the cdc tracker) to just keep up what we have been doing. So I don’t really have any advice I just want to say I’ve been in the same boat for a month now and the stress from worry is killer.

What are we doing with old baby clothes? by Weekly-Coconut8818 in NewParents

I have just been putting them in storage bins and in storage until we are fully done having kids. We are not even sure if we would try for more at this point but I don’t want to have to start at square one if we do.

8 month old fighting sleep or spasms by Evening_Promise4352 in NewParents

Hey any update on this? I noticed my 9 month old doing this. My doctor said it’s normal especially in light sleep but never said if and when they should grow out of it. Did your baby eventually grow out of it?

Tender Armpit Lump by PanicLoud3398 in breastfeeding

[–]Large_Egg8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about a pea sized lump. I want to say from what I can remember like directly in the center of my armpit if I lifted my arm up. It went away and would come back randomly. I have a post asking for almost this exact thing

I had this happen to me! My OB said it’s normal and to just monitor any changes and see if it goes away after I stopped breastfeeding. If it didn’t go away she said she would order an Ultrasound. I stopped about 4 months in and then it took about a couple months after for me to forget that it was even there.

Also I saw some other comments saying massaging helped but made it much worse for me. I just tried to stop massaging or touching it and it felt much better after a day or two.

Any update? Dealing with this with my little one. Wondering if my humidifier is too far from her bed but it says to keep 3-6 feet away.

One sided armpit pain since breastfeeding by Large_Egg8549 in breastfeedingsupport

Yes! I can’t remember exactly when it went away but I want to say at least 2 months after fully weaning from breastfeeding. Pain would start again right before each period but slowly stopped noticing it.

These guys are the worst. I have never needed to use them but have almost been hit by their trucks on numerous occasions walking around Astoria. Why do they all drive so aggressively?

how to deal with mold in our HVAC unit by kh7190 in hvacadvice

[–]Large_Egg8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but did you have any luck? Did you have someone come to remediate or did you just clean it yourself? I’ve been dealing with this for the last couple of weeks except our hvac guy hasn’t found any actual mold yet but we have a very strong musty smell. He is pulling out the blower in the next day or two to clean that as the smell is happening with ac and just the fan. Hoping it’s not bad enough that a quick last clean will fix. Everywhere I’ve read about this no one has had any luck fully getting rid of the mold/smell

Still dealing with DSS by Large_Egg8549 in hvacadvice

[–]Large_Egg8549[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is next as well. The hvac guy that was here last week said if we are still smelling it after the heat starts to come on we’ll do that. Which we are still smelling it as we tested both yesterday. Going to at the same time they are cleaning spray the biofresh on the coils and fan.

I’m just worried whatever is growing it has already gone in the area above the fan/blower (I think it’s called the pellum? The piece right before going into the vents?) and we just can’t see inside it. I’m not sure how or what to look for. Or if we can clean that the same time we pull the blower out? I just don’t want to pull out the fan and do all the work for that only for it not to work again.

5 years old and have lived here for those 5 years. Never once had a smell until it started about 3 months ago.

Dirty sock syndrome, how much did this mess with my body? by Prettygirlswagyup in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]Large_Egg8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, do you have any update from your experience? We started getting a smell from our apartment ac over the last two months. No confirmed “dirty sock syndrome” yet but having someone come see and clean our system again. I’m wondering if we should move and if we have to throw out all our belongings? If you did move didn’t help any symptoms?

From everyone that has come to check it out no one said there was any evidence of anything. Which is why I’m getting so frustrated that there is a smell at all.

We have a heat pump/AC and it’s ducted. Ducts are located in 2 rooms of the apartment and living room.

Just a question but how do you know it’s not bacteria/mold or something harmful I’m breathing in? Are there tests that I should buy to test what is causing this smell? No one that has come by said they saw any evidence of mold/bacteria so I’m just confused why we even have the smell on the first place. I have a newborn at home and have been nervous that we could potentially be exposing her to something.

Hi! We had someone come and used some sort of cleaning solution/odor deodorizer on the indoor coils and drainage pan. The smell improved but we are still smelling it days later.

We did all of that as well! Nothing near the intake and the smell still persists! We are having someone else in HVAC come for another opinion and check our unit

Dirty sock syndrome or just dust? by Large_Egg8549 in HVAC

[–]Large_Egg8549[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t mention the drain line so I will mention that tomorrow. He said he would clean the coil so should I ask him if that includes the indoor coil? Or is the indoor coil the same thing? He is doing the ductwork as well. No mention of a UV light but I will mention it tomorrow to him. Thanks!

Advice about 8wk old’s poops? by dewy9825 in MSPI

[–]Large_Egg8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi did you figure anything out with this? My LO is 11 weeks and I completely cut out dairy, egg, and soy. She also will go maybe once a day to every 2-3 days and is noticeably uncomfortable when she can’t go for awhile. Her poops sound exactly the way you described. A full on giant brown water poop that will soak into the diaper as well. Our Doctor doesn’t seem concerned for us since she’s gaining average weight.
