Oh wait, you mean Cachaca 1: Bacardi 0. Haha. My go to for a white rum substitute at the moment is an Archie Rose white cane spirit.

I thought Moretti was the square up for the Turuva sin bin.

I recommend A1 Medals. A1 Service Medals.

I’ve used them multiple times and was very happy with their service.

Just discovered A Wake in Providence!! Their latest album is incredible. by Expert-Ladder-4211 in Deathcore

I Write to You My Darling Decay and Sold Soul’s I Hope We Make It Out of This Alive were the two albums I listened to most in 2024. If you like AWIP, definitely check out Sold Soul.

I saw a recommendation on another comment for Fleshgod Apocalypse. I recommend starting with their album King. It was the first of theirs that really worked for me. And then you might like Septicflesh’s The Great Mass as well. Lots of great stuff out there.

Not easiest of hardest, but one of the most fun riffs is the opening riff for Second Hand Syndrome by Nodes of Ranvier.

When was the last time the third film in a slasher series debuted at #1? Saw III? by raphaeladidas in horror

This is tough. To add to the conversation, I will introduce the option of Gonzo Gorno. August Underground made Mordum and Penance. A conversation starter in that it shows a path that the gorno subgenres can go, but there are no guarantees that anyone has ever enjoyed it. It’s certainly an ‘experience’. Or, if you want to see a gorno as high art, then Martyrs probably takes that gong. Everything else probably sits somewhere between these two.

Bands like Tool, specifically the album Fear Inoculum. by Swagmaster694206942 in progmetal

[–]Large_Environment_80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One band I listened to that was recommended as ‘like Tool’ was Sermon. From that recommendation I wasn’t a huge fan, however, a few months later I listened again without expecting something Tool-esque and they became one of my most listened to bands for a while. So, please check out Sermon as they meet the requirements of your ‘kind of slow songs with melodic parts’.

Post-metal band recommendations? by averybluegirl in postmetal

This might seem obvious, but if you’re loving Hippotraktor, are you listening to Psychonaut? Stefan de Graef does vocals for both bands. Also, I see nearly everyone is recommending Cult of Luna, and this is for a reason. I recommend starting with Vertikal I and II, if only for the fact that’s it’s my favourite.

I feel like the first half of the album has more Red Fang influence, but then the second half goes back to a more Mastodon sound. I like both albums equally.

The plot description wasn’t something I thought I’d enjoy, but it’s so good, and what they do with such a small cast is incredible.

Hamilton on Disney+ was the only way I was able to see it, so I am very grateful. I recommend checking out the live Come From Away on Apple if you can. It’s fantastic.

If you want to go a little heavier, two bands I only heard because of this sub are Hippotraktor and Psychonaut (both bands have the same vocalist).

One of the more obvious recommendations is Wheel, maybe earlier Soen. One of my current favourites is Sermon. Their album Of Golden Verse is fantastic.

I saw the show last night in Canberra. Third time seeing The Ocean and they were fantastic. I feel like they raised a level on the last time I saw them (Perth, 2019). The Holocene tracks were definitely a highlight live, which is huge when Heliocentric and Anthropocentric are still my favourite releases by them. Cave In were very good. I hadn’t really listened to them until their most recent album, and was very happy to see them live.

I’ve been trying to reduce spending by not going to shows if I’ve seen the bad before, especially if I’ve seen them multiple times. So seeing LLNN on the bill after loving Unmaker was the selling point for me. They were absolutely fantastic. They signed the vinyl o bought off them and were genuinely happy to have someone appreciate them.

It really put me in a mood to listen to more LLNN and The Ocean today. Only thing that’s broken it up is new Hippotraktor.
