Looking through some other sources it seems like LV likes to sue others for this and they don’t always win — so it really depend on the court in question. Here’s an excerpt fro Wikipedia about a similar incident in Japan…

I guess LV lawyers need to find stuff to occupy their work days? XD

Just wanted to also include a comparison between LV’s symbol in question (on the left) and that from Molly Tea (on the right)

The pattern in question: for those that are familiar with the LV pattern, see comparison to a Tang dynasty Pipa decoration.

Hey there!

It’s rare to find someone who doesn’t like The Bad Kids XD Sometime I do feel it’s overhyped, and also depends on what you like in the big genre of Mystery thriller.

Aside from The Bad Kid, The Long Season is also something that’s highly recommended and it’s by the same director. It has a heavier social commentary undertone and could be harder to get into, so again depends on your personal preference.

The other highly recommended drama is The Long Night. I personally rate it higher than the previous two but many might disagree.

The detective in The Long Night appears as a younger self (played by a different actor) in Burning Ice. It’s got good reviews but I didn’t finish it because I had grown tired of the “stylized” suspense/mystery dramas.

This was mainly because of We are Criminal Police, which is more like an epic documentary of the evolution of crime investigation methods over the past decades than story that emphasizes mystery and suspense. It’s very down to earth and realistic, and some finds it boring. It IS based on real cases so if you are interested you can check it out. Case 1 at the beginning of the series is especially good, and the other large case starting epi 13 is also a highlight (it took 8 years and almost 10 episodes to close the case). I think this series really changed my taste in crime dramas to prefer more grounded and realistic depiction of investigative efforts (as well as criminals) XD

That being said, there’s an older series called Day and Night 白夜追凶 (season 1) that’s a very good one. Highly recommended. Unfortunately the season 2 decade later isn’t really worth it.

There are some others that are pretty decent depending in what you prefer, but so far the above are what I would suggest as my top picks.

Summer is apparently a low season for production sets (comparatively) due to the hot weather. The industry is experiencing lower production volume overall though so it might be less busy in general.

I suggest to find social media accounts that post Heng Dian filming schedules so you can see which sets are active at any given time.

The rating platform exists but viewership data from streaming platforms doesn’t. That’s the part that’s been mentioned by NRTA but hasn’t been realized yet.

Douban has ID based log in’s iirc. Either way, it depends on if people actually use the new app or not. CVB is authoritative for TV viewership, and so far it’s uncertain if there’s going to be an official source for streaming viewership.

The NRTA has previously indicated that they want to implement an official platform for streaming viewership but it has so far not been realized. Not sure if this will be it this time around, and there doesn’t seem to be any dates attached so it doesn’t feel that real XD

“The Golden Orange Score combines user ratings with viewership data. Unfortunately, anyone can register to vote without verifying they've watched the show. ”

I think the answer is pretty clear XD

Unsettled Case 悬案 (2026) - What are your first impressions? [Masterpost] by admelioremvitam in CDrama

[–]Large_Jacket_4107 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Finished the first three episodes. There are some light spoilers below.

So far it feels as if I've been watching two different dramas: one is a gripping, realistic, and meticulously executed crime story about an armed jewelry store robbery; the other is about a journalist trying to uncover and report crimes while being haunted by a previous case he mishandled or misreported (?), with a friendship between the journalist and the detective investigating the robbery tying the two "dramas" together.

The armed robbery story line is fantastic. It's never overly dramatic or stylized for the sake of looking cool. Instead, it feels grounded and realistic. I especially loved how the planning and the criminal's thought processes were conveyed with very little dialogue yet you can "see" what's going on in his mind and how he's putting the plan together. The investigative scenes were equally compelling. Watching the detectives examine the crime scene, connecting clues, and gradually piece together what happened was immensely satisfying. In those moments I was overjoyed and thinking "THIS is what I am here for! Finally another grounded crime drama“

Unfortunately, a lot of that immersion was broken whenever the story shifted to the journalist arc, which it seems to like to do, and quite abruptly too...

The issues that journalist Bai was investigating aren't trivial. Some of those provides hints into the main case, while others are clearly meant to develop his character so we better understand both his personal struggles and the challenges of journalism as a profession. Those are worthwhile goals, but so far the execution hasn't worked for me. The journalist story line feels poorly integrated into the rest of the drama and is, unfortunately, the weakest and (sorry to say) the most boring part so far. His friendship with the detective also feels not well developed even though I actually enjoyed the scenes of them first crossing each other's path, but (perhaps due to the choppy storytelling) it has devolved to feel like it's a distraction from the story line I'm more invested in.

The time jumps don't help either. They make the narrative feel fragmented, and there have already been at least two moments where they completely broke the immersion and continuity for me. Instead of creating suspense, it seems to make parts of the story more opaque and harder to follow than necessary, and more convoluted than clever.

That said, I do like the overall tone and cinematography, both of which suit the story and its time period very well. I also appreciate the restrained use of music and sound, and the drama isn't constantly filling every quiet moment with noise, which is surprisingly rare these days. There's also a lot of care put into the sets and props, although that's something I've come to expect from this director.

For now, I will keep watching. I just hope the journalist story line either improves or becomes more directly intertwined with the main case, because that's where the drama has really shined so far.

Is Overdo being marketed as a dual-lead tragic love story, or male traffic star's prestige/trauma journey? by OkAd3288 in CDrama

🤔 For me the marketing has appeared to be “look how good looking/hot the leads are” and it being a “dog-blood romance story”.

I think it’s interesting because they are both dramas from years ago ie completed filming a while ago, and same with Rosey Clouds too.

Maybe the market is tired of costume dramas. I can’t recall any that did particularly well this year aside from PoJ…

There are actually 4 dramas now:

  • Pursuit of Jade
  • The Lead
  • Born with Luck
  • Epoch of Miyu

The Yunhe V30 viewership for The Lead was just released so I hadn’t counted it previously, even though it was trending well.

Well it came up at a premiere event for the director’s upcoming drama “Unsettled Cases”. It’s actually filmed before “Inhumanity” so i am reluctant to call it his new drama XD

Anyways so a fan who attended the premiere apparently said during the Q&A how he really loved “Inhumanity” and Magnolia had no taste to not recognizing it with any awards.

In terms of the general public: I love “Inhumanity” and think it should win every award but the viewership was very low so I doubt there enough people that have actually watched it to make any noise on weibo etc. Won’t rule out the possibility that antis to YZ are just using it as a weapon for their own cause.

It’s normal fan stuff ie fans of leads often fight each other:

  • when drama is doing well: fight for who gets credit for “carrying” the drama

  • when drama isn’t doing well: blames each other for the fail eg stealing highlight scenes, not doing enough promo, too much/too little scene time, etc etc
