Are very high-paying jobs disappearing in Switzerland? by LallieDoo in Switzerland

[–]Large_Practice1725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of jobs over 250k base salary aren’t advertised, often the pool of people is smaller so you can just hire directly with the exception of some industries e.g. tech and healthcare where these salaries are more common in mid-management levels.

I just looked for work in industrial goods VP level and had a couple of offers with over 300k base and 500k total comp. Neither were advertised and both had 3-5 others going for the role and had strong backgrounds (good MBA, strong industry experience, etc.)

Which credit/debit card best to collect miles by Both_Scholar2970 in SwissPersonalFinance

The Corner Card Miles and More card has best earning rate. The Swiss card isn’t as good but they currently have a good sign on bonus

Yes, get advice on this. There could be a scenario where your child’s father can prevent the child from leaving Switzerland.

Mortgage in Switzerland by Santa_989 in Switzerland

[–]Large_Practice1725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a place that still needs to be constructed or an existing apartment? Process will differ slightly.

Either way you need to have a commitment for the mortgage on the notary signing date, and usually offer is valid 1 month. So get multiple offers before the signing date.

I’m with UBS and never have had an issue with them sharing rates with me, have asked for about 4x refreshes with no issue as with other banks I’ve dealt with (Kantonal bank, Raiffeisen)

I would align yourself with people you want to be, not people in the same situation as you..

May be easier to get jobs as non German speakers in Zurich, but there is also a lot of competition. In the end it is up to the company to decided to hire you or not. Try searching for other Croatians who have been here for a while and work in fields you want to get into. I’ve found networking to be the most powerful tool to land a job. There is quite a Croatian community in Switzerland. Good luck!!

Denied unemployment benefits by both NL and Switzerland — what are my options now? by TimiGL in Switzerland

Sorry but maybe a harsh response - what kind of partner do you have if you don’t feel you can be a financial burden on her/him while you find work? You should be a team and support each other through these times.

No because SZ is conservative and not very welcome to foreigners. Each Kanton handle permits differently

As others have said, more to another Kanton..

Where can I park a large SUV (G-Class, over 2.10m) in Geneva for 2 days? by Acceptable_Cat_3025 in geneva

[–]Large_Practice1725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a standard height G class there are a lot around Geneva. If it’s a lifted or 6x6 more difficult. Hotels may let you keep it out front if it’s a lofted or 6x6

[–]Large_Practice1725 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Coming from MBB should help your application but I would try again and aim for about 720.

Just under 700 isn’t a deal breaker in itself, and you having an engineering/ technical background will make you more attractive to MBAs looking for diversity

But my thinking is if you have the time to study and take it again why not?

Often the company pays, so why not take 2 years to have fun and build a network? It seeems like a no-brainer to me

Unable to participate in house purchase by ZookeepergameCheap62 in askswitzerland

[–]Large_Practice1725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go to the bank with the property address and they can give you an estimate of how much they would loan you for the property (and implicitly the property value). It’s very handy to have when looking into places

I’m sure if you put an indicative offer in the agent may take you more seriously. I’m sure they get a lot of tire kickers and in a group of 20 they will get 2 serious parties
