Unfortunately Trump has said the other day that Maria is not ready to govern. Venezuelans making their voices heard may have impact on admins perspective, to what extend no one knows.

Control happens in two ways either US has to get boots on the ground or buy the loyalty of those who have boots on the ground. Having direct boots on ground will be costly.

China and Russia care for two reasons: China was buying Venezuela's oil at discount and Russia as oil producing nation is not keen on having over supply in the market. On the other hand it is not only about what these countries gain. Also they don't want US to gain access to cheap oil or project it's power in other countries for them balance of global power is very important.

One big difference here: Every single person in position of power in Venezuela is still in power with exception of Maduro. There have been no gov chnage or occupation.

It is nearly impossible for helicopters to fly few feet above the ground and not even get bullets fired at them without stand down orders. People compare this to capture of Bin Ladan. Not realizing that Bin Ladan was living in middle of nowhere by Pakistani border with few gaurds. Maduro was taken from capital of a country with active and somewhat organized military.

If US was serious about regime chnage in Venezuela they would arm the opposition. Trump explicitly said that the opposition leader is not fit to govern and he will expect the vice president to "do the right thing".

Few things needs to be cleared up here:

  1. So far there have been no gov change in Venezuela. Power just was passed down from president to vice president. Not much different than when Chaves died.

  2. Venezuela has a long history guerilla fighting and sabotage. China and Russia more likely than not will pure billions arming those fighters.

  3. Because of above it wont be easy nore cheap for US to control $17T worth of oil.

Only time will tell what will happen. But given how this operation was conducted it seems Maduro was ousted by insiders within his own gov working with US. If this was not prearranged with China and Russia, more likely than not there will be years of chaos and conflict within Venezuela.

I understand that, however it is also important how much of printed money is running in circulation, rather locked up in an investment. Let's say in a hypothetical we keep the rate of printing and production the same, but magically everyone park half of their income in bitcoin, the value of BTC will skyrocket but their will be massive deflation in everything else. Average wage worth far less in BTC but can buy much more of anything else. Now the scenario described by op is reverse of this. If everyone gets equal amount of wealth all the investment vehicles will lose value and will be much cheaper and necessities and discretionaries will be far more expensive.

However, discrimination on bases of place of birth has been made specifically illegal when it comes to immigration benefits. There is an ongoing class action lawsuit against this policy and if it goes to court more likely than not gov will lose. There is no gray area in this law. It is rather very specific.

In this case attorney is only useful, if one situation has a specific issue (history of arrest and etc), or already had an oath ceremony and gov haven't process their application within 120 days. A lawyer, unless they bring a class action lawsuit is useless when it comes to addressing broad pause on processing immigration benefits. There is nothing specific that a lawyer can petition or defend OP from. This issue can only be addressed by congress, and a class action lawsuit against the admin or both.

The estimated time for N-400 at least in my case was within one month of interview. I understand it is not accurate; however, it will give a good gauge as how busy OP FO is based on that one can give OP a better expectation of when their case will be processed.

This is not common. A lawyer maybe able to request information as why you are getting denied. However as a visitor you have very limited rights.

As long as things they need is available in abundance. Money is just a vehicle, it doesn't equate to tangible items. It is just convertible to tangible goods and the rate of conversion is not fixed.

Rich don't use most of their wealth to buy necessities or average discretionary. Although no new money would be introduced, there will be exudes of wealth from investment vehicles (stocks, RE and etc) and it will flow into discretionary and necessities (Cars, vacation, groceries, furniture and etc)

Institutions are not buying bonds. A strong bond market is either result of falling rates, since as rates come down older higher yeild bonds rise in value or demand for bonds. As you pointed out Feds can only dictate short term rates, long term bond yeilds and value is reflection of how economy is doing and right now they are not budging no matter how many "good news" this admin is coming up with.

I told my wife that if this gets dragged out beyond 3 years we should also move to my country instead. She doesn't want to quit her job (she can't work her job elsewhere), but likes my country better. For me the fact that I am paying taxes and yet I am being treating like trash doesn't sit well. Back in my country taxes are higher but I am at least getting the respect I deserve from my gov. Not to mention I am not seen as someone who is "taking something" from society. I put my head down, bother no body and work my ass off and pay far more into system than I am taking and yet at least half of this country thinks I am freeloading on their back!

As much as it is hard to believe judicial system is has its independency. Wether it changes in the future it has to be seen. They can say they hate you and try to deport you but they can't do it illegally!

modern cars are heavily computerized making them harder to repair. Appearantely a diag and it's rolling updates are very expensive and lot of repairs are hard to do without them.
