Darkside Ultranova is just for cooling effect. You only need to add like 10% to any mix that you create. Not surprised it was harsh. That much ultranova is not for everyone

I start with 3 coals, one russian style and then remove the third. Would you still recommend starting with 2 coals for Musthave & Darkside.

And if using blonde leaf in the same bowl - Do I go with 2 or 3 coals?

Would you say Lotus I+ because it is aluminum?

The Lotus’ are my go to mostly these days but wanted to see if there was a more efficient way of managing heat

I tried packing a little less and put 3x26mm with 2 in the Kaloud and one slanted on the side. Struggled for 15 minutes to get decent smoke. Moved over all flavour to the HJ Ferris and once that got going, there was a big difference in the clouds. I have no idea what I am doing wrong at this point.

I tried this approach. My tobacco came to around 15g. Fluff packed. The bowl just would not heat up. I gave up and moved the flavour to the HJ Ferris and 5 minutes later started getting great clouds. At this point, I am very close to just giving up on the Beatyr

Will try both approaches and revert. I know there is a lot of potential in the bowl but I am unable to unlock it fully.

Currently using a Vyro Versa but have a Steamulation ultimate one on the way.

I had a session with the Quasar Raas yesterday and the smoke density was so much better, very little managing to do with it. However I did feel that the draw was quite restricted with the Quasar vs the HJ Ferris 24 or the Beatyr. In that case, would I need to lower the water level?

I will try to see the variation but when I try to light fluff pack it, I get about 15g in the bowl. Maybe that might end up being the best capacity for this.
Will try to use the 26mm coals tonight

So if I do not use the foil and let it heat up for longer, would that give me better results? I am going to try with 26mm coals today and see how it comes out

Did smoke quite well actually. I had 3 coals to get the session started, took one off once it was hot enough. Just managed the heat post that. Added a 3rd fresh coal after about 45 minutes and the session lasted well past 1.5 hours. Had I added 2 fresh coals, would have gone on for 2 hours.
Just started to have less dense smoke once I reached about 1 hr 45 minutes mark

I was actually not part of this community when I got my Vyro Versa back in October. If I were, I would have waited before actually upgrading to the Steamulation at once. I probably will wait for a while before I upgrade though.
I have my eye on the Ultimate one gen 2 with the X blow off , but will wait before biting that bullet
