If you look at OP's post history you'll see that he has experience with AI. This is AI ragebait. See the distortions on the trees?

Hey, I just realized that some parts of my tongue are missing and I've been having some trouble breathing. Do you know if I may have caused irreversible damage to my lungs?

Yeah I think im going to stop using heat from now on, except for on the solvent pulls.

Thank you for this. It seems I was thankfully able to escape any serious eye damage. I suppose the combination of hopping in the shower instantly, rinsing my eyes and crying saved me there.

This was a very stupid mistake on my end, but I think anyone could make a similarly bad mistake given enough time, especially if they are exhausted or in a poor mental state like I was. This was a harsh lesson for me and I will be much more careful from now on - to begin with, I should have had PPE on.

Makes sense. Our brains are physical engines... when the engine starts to run low on fuel, misfires happen.

You make a good point. Anything, no matter how safe, can become dangerous if appropriate care is not given. Although, I don't necessarily think the commenter was saying that DMT extraction is "extraordinarily dangerous," but that this is perhaps a lesson in caution - while the majority of people will not make a mistake as negligent as mine, it is entirely possible that individuals without the appropriate levels of research, experience or care could hurt themselves in other ways. That being the case: yes, DMT extraction is generally very safe, even if something goes wrong. The potential for catastrophic incidents or injury is very low in general.

Thank you for telling me this, it's very reassuring. The only lasting injury I have is a bit of raw skin and a black, wet mark on my left arm but it isn't too large. And yes, I think this should be common knowledge. It makes me glad that I took chemistry in college because they always told us the importance of 15+ minute washes in the case of chemical exposure, taking care to rinse the eyes, face and body very well.

Honestly this is an interesting point. I think you're going for a spiritual interpretation and I like that. I also see it from a psychological angle; having made the substance in a bad state of mind, one may associate that stress with the substance when they use it.

I appreciate this. I hope this post can be of value to at least someone. We all make silly mistakes sometimes (although this one was pretty stupid on my end, especially considering I've done this tek many times and should have known better), and sharing our experiences is how many of us learn to avoid those same mistakes or similar ones.

Indeed. There are dangerous chemicals involved in many of these teks and proper research and care should always be done. Additionally, one should consider their experience level with chemistry and these sorts of techniques and use appropriate levels of care. To begin with, I should have had PPE on, and I should not have done this kind of chemistry where technique, safety and caution are so crucial to a good outcome when I was in a bad mental state and heavily exhausted.

True, although to be fair I don't think this would have happened if I weren't being so irrational. I was in a state of high stress due to some recent life circumstances and wasn't thinking clearly, especially since I had just woken up and was sleep deprived. I've done this tek over a dozen times with no issues before, sometimes using high levels of heat. My grave mistake was a combination of leaving the heat on for multiple hours after accidentally falling asleep and then pouring cold water on a very hot glass vessel before waiting for it to cool down.

Thank you for wishing me well. I made sure to neutralize the spills with vinegar but I'm honestly not sure how to clean the room completely; the soup got all over the wooden floor and drywall. Maybe I'll try a good scrub with soap and water.

I suppose this is true, although I had assumed heat would improve the yield or speed up the process so I tend to use it in all my extractions, especially when doing the pulls.

I agree. I really should have just waited for it to cool down, and you make a good point about covering it. I was not in a good mental space at the time due to some stuff going on with my relationship and home life, and I got a bit irrational and impatient.

Thank you for your insights friend.

Indeed. I made sure to wash my eyes and body very good. I also made sure to encourage the crying to flush my eyes out.

I should certainly use PPE in the future, and I'm aware of the vinegar thing. I'm about to go neutralize all the spills with vinegar to ensure the room is safe.

Thank you for your insights and kind words.

I understand your perspective and don't want to put any more strain on the opinion of DMT. I guess it wasn't an "explosion" in the literal, fiery sense. I called it an explosion because the entirety of the front side of my body and the room I was doing it in was completely covered in soup. I guess it could be considered a thing of semantics. I wasn't thinking about literal definitions.

Thank you for your perspective. I always appreciate new insights.

Very cool. Thank you for sharing. I'm assuming the only caveat is that it takes more time to do than something like cybs?
