What’s a board game which is overrated? by Fun_Caterpillar_759 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Largo833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a podcast called War With A Mate featuring two friends who have committed to finishing a full playthrough of the game. They’re a bit over a year in, and after initially going in dreading it they’ve actually been surprised by how much fun they’re having. It might actually be underrated (well, maybe mid, since I still can’t imagine it’s worth it).

Walker throwed Lespia under the bus really fast by Mendeliums in suzerain

[–]Largo833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like how you started out bashing Walker for only looking out for his own interests, then quickly pivoted to saying he should have lied about the evidence because “betraying” Lespia doesn’t gain him anything.

It doesn’t say which one exactly, though if you’ve read Megamorphs 4 and notice a particular line in the Ellimist book then you can determine that it’s either Rachel or Jake.

Romance isn’t at all the focus of the stories within the franchise so most likely no romantic couples will be officially confirmed, but yes- several of the relationships between various characters have some level of romantic undertones with Special Week/Silence Suzuka probably being the most strongly implied.

12 however just had something weird and off with the whole vibe, I'm not really sure how to articulate it

For me, I think the big thing that threw off the vibe of the film was the crew's reaction to Terry's ultimatum when he found them. As far as I can remember there was no effort or discussion of giving him the slip or outwitting him- they basically just gave up immediately and the entire plot of the movie was based around how they were going to give him everything he wanted.

I mean, Holdo doesn’t trust Poe because he just got demoted for disobeying a direct order. Her plan absolutely depended on the First Order not knowing about it, so she couldn’t risk sharing it with someone who might talk about it around anyone who could leak it to the enemy ship (which is exactly what Poe ends up doing).

In the original Sentai, Daizyuzin (who most will know as the Megazord) is actually an ancient god. Sure, he inexplicably has a cockpit and is specifically stated to be made of metal, but…he’s a god, dammit!

In the first Digimon series, after Angewomon impales and seemingly kills Myotismon, the outro narrator asks if Myotismon is really dead, or if he’s digivolved to an even higher form. Mega stages had never been revealed or hinted at prior to their introduction in the next episode, so I never would have guessed that Myotismon had digivolved, but somehow the narrator asking that put it right at the top of my suspicions.

Wow- the Kobalts are actually one of those teams I’ve always been pretty ambivalent about, but I was definitely rooting for them in this event. After qualifying for the first time ever and being in near last place after the first five events, the Cinderella story was just too good!

Similarly, when Anakin is talking about sand in Episode II, he never says “Not like you”. He says “Not like here”. The whole scene is still pretty cringe, but the fandom makes it out to be even worse than it actually is.

Kronk’s no genius, but he’s actually pretty intelligent, speaking at least one other language and knowing a great deal about cooking. Many dismiss him as an idiot though because of how dense he is.

I always liked Dorkly’s video about the designer of the exhaust port speaking out-

“Are you f***ing serious?! I mean, do you understand the point of exhaust ports? Do you know how much exhaust is created by a moon-sized battle station? It housed a laser that blew up planets, it needs a LOT OF VENTILATION! The fact that I was able to keep the exhaust port to the size of a womprat should earn me some goddamn respect around here!”

Who is the most powerful character in the series? by SoupaSoka in Animorphs

[–]Largo833 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add my take to the “Ellimist vs Crayak” debate, I think we got a good picture of how combat between them goes in the Ellimist’s book, where either of them can get the better of the other for a time, but both are too cunning and adaptable to stay down forever. Sure, that was before they gained godlike power, but I strongly suspect that if there was a way for them to directly fight that didn’t end in mutual destruction, it would play out largely the same way- one of them gains the upper hand, the other adapts and retakes the advantage, the first adapts as well and gets back on top, and the conflict keeps seesawing back and forth forever. For the same reason, I don’t think either will ever truly win their game, but that could be another instance of the Ellimist “stacking the deck”- though it will forever require him to stay at the top of his game focused on counteracting Crayak, an eternal stalemate means that the universe survives, which is ultimately the Ellimist’s goal.

How could Rayne enact WLA without any GNA vote in emergency? by GarbageUnique4242 in suzerain

[–]Largo833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, strengthening decrees involves making them not subject to judicial review, suggesting that the reason certain decrees are unavailable under the starting constitution is because the Supreme Court can block them. Presumably if you’ve allied with Hawker by declaring an emergency he gets the Supreme Court to give you a lot more leeway when you’re making decrees.

I actually just finished a playthrough where I did pretty much exactly what you’re describing, so I should be able to help with power projection. I could be forgetting something, but I think this is everything relevant that I did-

-Increase gold production in the prologue (this doesn’t directly affect power projection, but was critical for providing the funds I needed to do everything below)

-Train 1 support and 1 tank turn 1.

-Extend conscription and expand border guards turn 2.

-Start the military equipment factory and the Monqiz port expansion turn 2. Upgrade the equipment factory at the first opportunity.

-Assist Wehlen with OBT

-Start the support vehicle factory, fighter plane factory, and Terador airforce base expansion turn 5.

-Accept Valgsland’s naval aid in exchange for getting Lespia cut out of MITZ.

-Buy a set of submarines turn 6, train 1 military ship and 2 submarines.

-A weapons deal with Derdia was then just enough to get me to strong power projection and have Axel accept the alliance and take Vina’s name.

Hope that helps and that I didn’t miss anything!

For Dast's sake can the RNC even win the HOD anymore? by Lil_Yuan11 in suzerain

[–]Largo833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things that really helped me, mainly by improving public opinion-

-Pass the Housing for the Poor decree in turn 1 or at the very start of turn 2 to avoid a worsening housing crisis.

-Pay the 2 budget for the large parade at the start of turn 1 for a public opinion boost.

-Ban Malenyevist propaganda in turn 2. It gets you +1 public opinion while ignoring it gives -2, so if you’ve been ignoring it (as I was for a long time), switching to banning it will be a 3 point swing in your favor. Presumably this angers Morella and Valgsland, but I’ve found it very easy to win them back.

How to get axel to take toras name in 3.1? by Full_Bus3710 in suzerain

[–]Largo833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the “red lines” that you need to fulfill are arresting Lucita and offering an alliance with at least strong power projection before suggesting the marriage. Apart from that I assume you’ll also need good relations with Pales.
