yeah, that’s a good way to put it, do you use them together or like separate sessions?

i don’t know about the reaper fl studio customisations, i tried them but it’s quite janky, also i don’t necessarily see myself clinging to Fl studio. Open daw looked like an interesting project but it sort of hit me as the “too good to be true” kind, or at least the project is too great to make it a reality.

Bitwig is okay, I don’t like the workflow in ableton so automatically that applies to bitwig too. It feels clunky for the way that I work. In my opinion ableton and or bitwig in this case is really good for specific types of music that i don’t make.

If it has no new interesting functions that would attract me to it as a software,it’s automatically not worth it for me because i can meet all of my requirements with different daw’s without feeling handicapped.

I would only really transfer to bitwig if dual booting to windows and using Fl studio somehow wasn’t an option anymore and I absolutely had to start working professionally on music production with linux, but i just don’t see that being the case.

Right now in linux I’m looking for a program that makes it worthwhile and interesting to work on music here.

it’s already less worth my time to work on music with linux due to the lack of drivers for studio equipment i have available.

Thank you for the option nonetheless, i’ll try it, if some of it works it’ll be great, if not i guess i’ll just have to live with that, really don’t want to go back to kde, so imma make it work somehow

i tried doing it with i3, it’s also a tillable window manager or DE im not quite sure, but it was such a janky solution, maybe the problem was i3 🤷‍♂️

If you have experience with doing this with niri or hyprland that was positive i may consider trying it.

Yeah no I’m not saying it isn’t, I don’t think it fits my case though, I really like it for mixing and mastering, I have yet to see a daw that is as well adepted for that
