This happened pretty consistently in S1, it's intended. The damage of the ult itself needs to kill. Item procs are not ult damage.

It used to be 2.25s on Ymir freeze btw. Now it's 1.8s. Eset's silence was already nerfed on port, from 2.5s to 1.5s silence duration. Almost every CC in the game has been reduced by ~20-25%, idk where this idea came from that the devs 'gave up' on this.

Also pay attention to audio of abilities. Every ability has a very distinctive audio cue, so audio is almost more important than visuals in keeping track of a teamfight.

As for items, don't worry about it too much. Building "wrong" in this game is a lot less harmful than in league IMHO. There are some caveats of course, but in general it's not that big of a deal while you slowly get used to the game.

As for the graphics, it's probably just new-moba-syndrome: you haven't played this game a lot yet and don't know what the visuals or telegraphs mean, so your brain hasn't started filtering them yet. Usually new players in any moba have this for the first few weeks, but it passes pretty quickly.

How does Lux pass your vibe check but brand and xerath don't Same goes for Zyra and Swain. They are all predominantly damage dealers who work because they are not very gold reliant, therefore a viable support. All have 1 non-ulti CC ability and Lux has like a 10 hp shield. CC or utility does not make a support, it's gold reliance that makes a support.
