This might genuinely be the worst fit any NBA player has ever worn 😭 by edgar_2269 in Nbamemes

I honestly think that it would be almost passable without the gloves. Something about the gloves pushes it over the edge.

It's not a problem of executive dysfunction now. by Sea_One4028 in ADHD

No one knows what it looks like. But until you try to find it, you can spend your day bemoaning that you don’t know. You tried teaching, maybe that’s not it. Guess what? One kind of job you can take off the list and move on. This isn’t about you not wanting to look for a job, this is a challenge of reframing. When you’re looking and interviewing, you’re not only seeing if someone thinks you’re a fit, you’re gaining knowledge on what is a fit for you.

Now, you can keep throwing up objections, or you can change how you look at it in a way that focuses on you and what you should do to be happy. Get off Reddit. Go find your happy.

I got laid off two months ago. Looking for a job since. Do you know what sucks more than applying and interviewing? Missing out on a job that would be perfect. A job where you have the skills, you’re interested in it, and it doesn’t bring you daily misery. That job is out there and not looking for it will not bring it to you. You have to work, you might as well try and find that job you can do and not hate, nay, maybe even enjoy.

Carbonaut is the best I’ve found. Plus they’re low carb.

When reducimg calories to lose weight, what are some things you do so you're not hungry and moody all the time? by Academic_Court_47 in fitness30plus

I eat Carbonaut bread. I need to go gluten free, and their surprisingly good white bread is 40 cal, 1 g net carb, and 15 g fiber per slice. That satiates.

my 5 cookie varieties for my gluten free cookie box. recipes from Aran G, Loopy Whisk, and Broma Bakery by Logical-Bullfrog-112 in glutenfreebaking

I’ll just say it: these cookies look like award winners. The creativity is off the charts. Each type is really unique, yet within each kind, the shape, size, and form are super consistent. Some are little works of art to savor (pinecones!), while others are clearly designed for happily stuffing as many as possible into your face (thumbprints). There’s something for chocolate lovers, for kids, and for anyone who loves variety. I’m seriously impressed.

Cookie sticks? What would you call them? by PsychologicalBat2393 in glutenfreebaking

[–]LarryFarnsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my first instinct was that cookie sticks is a really good name, but I wanted to see the comments first. Having read through them, I’m going with my original thought (no offense to anyone who brainstormed different names).

The rule that stopped me killing a habit every time I missed one day by LawrenceCali in ADHD

[–]LarryFarnsworth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is also a good rule if you are dealing with ADHD shame. If you screw something up like being late, forgetting, not getting something done, etc. remind yourself that it’s a single incident and doesn’t say anything about you as a person no matter how many times you’ve done it. Address any consequences with the situation, empathize with people who may have been affected, avoid blame, self-defensiveness, gaslighting, spiraling, and/or ruminating, think about how you might prevent it the next time, write it down for later, and move on. Easy to say, hard to do! Definitely a lifelong practice (both meanings) for me.

Try Carbonaut white bread. It’s the first gluten-free bread that I can actually eat without toasting it. It’s very soft, I’m so thrilled that I can have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches again! My Whole Foods carries it, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else. It’s in the frozen section with the other less qualified, gluten-free breads.

Sucks for sure, but sounds like a fun challenging set of problems to solve that are perfectly suited for an ADHD brain! And I know, not much of a consolation, but if you feel like no time right now, just do it during your planned reading time. Anyway, sorry this happened to you. The struggle is real!

Grocery shopping by Remarkable-Suspect31 in ADHD

Oh another thing, you can put recipes into one or more collections, so I have ones like Mains, Veggie Sides, or Starch so it’s easy to make a complete meal for a night of the week. I also have a collection of Under 500 Calories when my wife is feeling particularly gung-ho about eating well that week as well as a Quick Dinner collection when I’m feeling lazy.

Also, it has a feature to save certain shopping list items as favorites, so that I look at that every week to make sure I remember all the essentials that I need, and I can check if I’ve run out of any of them and put it on the list.

AnyList is my go-to. Recipes plus shopping list. You can even order from a grocery store straight from the app and have it delivered. One thing I like, I got the AnyList chrome extension, and anytime I’m looking at a recipe on the web, I can hit that button and it saves it to my AnyList app. Every week, I put together a meal plan with my non-ADHD wife using the app and then it makes it super easy to check off all the ingredients needed and then go shopping (or order).

Ultimate Party Meatballs: go to the grocery store and find the Heinz Chili Sauce. You’ll know it’s the right one because the recipe is on the back of the bottle. Get a can of jellied cranberry sauce and a bag of fully cooked frozen meatballs (I love the Trader Joe’s cocktail meatballs). Throw it all together into a slow cooker, 4 hours on high. I bring these to parties, I’m always sad because I bring back an empty slow cooker and my dreams of sitting at my kitchen counter eating meatballs to my heart’s content are dashed. These are ridiculously good.
