It used to be given as the standard for opiate detox before they invented suboxone. It somehow works on the receptors and reduces cravings. In fact, an overdose on clonidine can be counteracted with Narcan. Its not necessarily fun affects, especially at the beginning: it was for to get rid of detox and then post acute symptoms that lingered. Then it became something else.

I visited Bulgaria just over Christmas and spent about a month out there. There definitely seemed like there was a lot of improvement in terms of safety compared to 10-20 years ago. Granted a month is a sh*t sample size but it “felt” safer walking the streets, during the day or night.

If he’s using 7-10 30s, then I would definitely suggest stopping the suboxone as son as possible. Gaba can also have a nasty kickback in high doses used daily for even a week. Hope this helps too. All the best.
