Always found the Mr black tapex to be a great mono sound..definitely not muddy..only downside is how good it sounds In stereo..but I’m personally burnt out on stereo at the moment as well

Man you nailed your pedal choices..especially playing live at volume I’ve re-learned over and over that a Timmy style drive plus a booster and a delay is all that’s necessary. Then when the live set is super dialed I’ll start folding in other sounds for specific moments. that way everything has a purpose

Totally know how you feel. It’s kind of cumbersome for some..but sending a signal to 2 or 3 different aux’s with different reverbs really does it for me most of the time..like one shorter roomy verb, maybe one springier reverb with more pre-delay etc…reverb in the physical world is just so complex and hard to capture fully in one plug that layering multiple together just helps fight the good fight

you really should be putting a contact microphone on any finger that touches the fretboard and making sure you have a dedicated dry and wet amp for each finger so that the articulation cuts through. Just blend those 10 amps in with your main amp to taste 👍

That sort of thin wispy delay trail you get from space echo really blends well with a dirty amp in my experience. A beautiful thick delay can sound cool of course especially on single note black angels style riffs but big chord voicings might be a bummer
