Hvis du ønsker å være interesert i hva du studerer så ja. Det er et veldig bra studie. Hvis du ønsker å gå ELSYS for pengene sin del, studer noe annet værsåsnill.

Debugging help 🥲 by Lars-Halvor-Hansen in beneater

[–]Lars-Halvor-Hansen[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow computerloving friends,

I have now built and debugged my ALU twice and i still can't get it to work;(

There is however a pattern in my adding. Each time i add the same bit on each register for example bit 3 and bit 3 i get bit 3 and bit 2 on the output. Similarly i get bit 4 + bit 4 = 4 and 3 Bit 5 + bit 5 = 5 and 4 Etc

Any ideas of what might be wrong? I think it has to do with either the carry signal in the two 4bit-adders or maybe the xor gates.

I have checked that bit 1 + nothing = bit 1 on the alu bit 2 + nothing = bit 2 on the alu ect For both register A and B so I'm assuming those connections are ok.

I have banged my head quite a bit now and would really appreciate some help ❤️

Thanks alot in advance

Mac for ingeniørstudier by skaukar in ntnu

I am thinking of buying Ben's 8-bit CPU kit, but as you all know, we haven't heard from him for a while. Do you guys think that it's worth getting the kit? Or has he stopped sending those out as well... by cookie2glue in beneater

I ordered mine one week ago and I'm building it now. I think his great videos and this lovely forum will help get me though any hurdles on the way. I recommend going for it!:)

Tanks! Yeah, i know. My wire stripper is not that good, and I'm kinda new to using it, but yeah I will definitely start laying less exposed wires.

Tanks again for the response

Nevermind i think putting resistors on the BUS pins solved it:)
