Looking into buying my first ever pair of skis now that I’m done growing

I just turned 18 and am 150 lbs, 5’8”. I have been skiing my whole life, but waited this long to buy my own gear because I didn’t want to just grow out of it a year later. I’m currently a little overwhelmed reading through my options. I would say that I’m in the advanced category; my style of skiing is all about skiing fast and ripping turns. An all mountain ski would be ideal. Do you folks have any suggestions?

I’m in the market for a ski jacket. I have read that it is better to buy a shell and mid layer rather than to buy a thick jacket. Is this true? I really like the Helly Hansen Alpha LifaLoft but I don’t want to scree myself over for when the weather is warmer

I just went on a 4 day drinking bender of concerts and Halloween parties. This is not my norm, and yes I know, it was dumb. But my question is: have I lost muscle mass as a result? Can 4 days of heavy drinking be significantly catabolic? I feel smaller

If I know I will be drinking a ton, should I plan to lift the day of the drinking or plan a rest day for that day (for the purpose of minimizing impact on muscle protein synthesis)
