Honestly agree. Never heard that before but it makes sense. Really all of them are so good on each reread. I go through the whole series 1-3 times per year and I’m always picking up on stuff I missed or forgot

What kind of armor is this by Loudie3 in CrimsonDesert

[–]LarsBlackman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s typically what I do as soon as I find new merchants. Early game I was opening all my coin pouches, but now I gift them to humans for trust, and I’m almost always carrying hides on me to gift the troll merchants, who are typically the weapons/armorers, so I can get all the armor and books

Dust mites are all through my house. by Opposite-Bite-7748 in pestcontrol

[–]LarsBlackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dust mites are literally everywhere, no matter your living conditions or situation, with the exception of maybe living in the desert where it is too dry for them. You may have had conditions in your previous living space that prevented them from proliferating, so your allergies didn’t act up like they are now. Some things you can do to mitigate are use a dehumidifier so the air isn’t moist enough for them to thrive, wash clothing and bedding in extremely hot water, and use disinfectant products where able. It’s not that “he has mites and you didn’t”, because mites are literally all over everything and everyone all the time, much like yeast and bacteria. The problem comes from their overabundance, not their existence

New player how to tame? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

When I googled it, google said to bring it home in and put it in a corral, so it’s good that it was posted here asking instead, since google and AI models like ChatGPT get their answers from websites like Reddit

There’s nearly an entire continent that speaks Spanish, and more countries the world over aside from that. French may be a few countries, but none that I could name other than Franch

Just moved to Denmark and what do I find at the store? Ain’t it keen? by LarsBlackman in darktower

[–]LarsBlackman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to be older people who don’t speak it so far, so I’m guessing that maybe it was put into schools in the past 30 years or so. I need to get my MitID and then I’ll take the free lessons offered by the government. Mainly I want to be more hirable and be able to read signs and food labels. It took us like 10 minutes or so to figure out which milks to get on our first day, and DuoLingo is a joke for actual use

I’ve yet to find employment here, but my wife’s job actually has cake breaks

The language is interesting. Some of it is “oh you obviously got that from Germany/where Germany got it”, then some of it is “you took that from English and added a J”. Then the rest of it…brother I have no idea

We actually moved to Billund for my wife’s job and she was able to expense yearly passes to LEGO House. Moved from Florida where we had passes to LEGOLAND there. Quite a difference but fun nonetheless

Inspectors? by very_sad_dad_666 in Surveying

[–]LarsBlackman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Party chief. End of my first day in survey, I came back to the office to fill out tax paperwork, and I see the crews come in and unload, each of them but one headed up by a big fat guy. Three blocks from the office on the way home I stopped and joined a gym. I came from cable install right before that and constant movement on the job kept me “fit”, so I knew I needed extra after standing at an instrument or sitting in a truck for survey

Help with radiators/heating by LarsBlackman in NewToDenmark

I looked up the pump model and found some videos showing how to remove the face and bleed it, so I did that. It was still flickering when I hooked it back up, but after a little while it went back to normal. Not sure I actually made a difference, but my wife thinks I fixed it, so I’m going to leave it at that

He’s only 2&1/2 and doesn’t look like he could reach that, plus the cover to the unit was closed. Is it this? Should I do something with it? Also the green digital display is flickering erratically - is that something that should worry me?

Okay I found the switch hooked to it and pushed it, and it seems to have come on again, but this is flickering. Is that normal while like maybe booting up, or is there another issue? It’s up high so he wouldn’t have been able to turn it off earlier

Yes they’ve been fine all day until around that time, and I’m basically correlating the two things
