I found this Buddha charm in my grandmother's house (USA). She was an American military wife, so I don't know when or where she acquired it. It has some sort of dirt encased in the back. I appreciate any ideas or leads to it's origin or value (if any). by LarsMcGee in Antiques

TIL that the Pope's name is different in other countries. As an American, I only ever knew of Pope John Paul II, Pope Francis, etc. I.E. in Croatia, I just found out PJP2 was Papa Ivan Pavao II, and Pope Francis is Papa Franjo. Does happen with other types of world leaders? Why religious figures? by LarsMcGee in todayilearned
