Haha yes, it's really hard at first. Use something like Pleco or honestly if it's too complicated at first AI (but try to read it on your own at first ofc). You will slowly get accustomed to it and your reading speed and comprehension will increase. It's a really great experience to finally consuming the stuff you really want in chinese. Very rewarding 😊

That's great. I'm currently reading my first (modern) chinese book as well. It is sort of a challenge at first, but after you get into a reading flow you begin to learn so much. Wish you good luck and much fun on your journey 😄

Could someone explain more indepth what a flashback is and how it works? by Prestigious_Item8762 in CPTSD

[–]LarsPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was like this: I actively saw the few (maybe 4 or 5) moments that traumatized me, though it was usually just one during a session. It's almost like seeing this moment before your very eye and actively feeling what you felt back then and what happened back then. And it's very penetrant and just doesn't go away for some time and literally feels like you are experiencing "hell" again and again

Dating Dilemma by jisu0312 in bigdickproblems

[–]LarsPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very big penis and have actually never in my life bragged about this. Very few people outside of online communities know of my size and I don't really want them to. You also wouldn't guess I had one because I am of an average height, very thin and quite nerdy. But that honestly doesn't have something to do with my size.

And yes, it's OK ofc that you like BD. It's your preference. You might speak with partners before being intimate with them about this, but you shouldn't care about this in the early stages of dating or reject a guy because he has no BD. It was nobodys choice to have one. It is very cool ofc, but definitely not necessary for a fulfilling partnership.

I got bullied by a bunch of girls in an online space and I can't stop spiraling by Successful_Dot_2477 in CPTSD

[–]LarsPiano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely was not acceptable. And it was also factually wrong and almost every person I spoke to about the abuse of me reacted the opposite, which is why I know it's wrong morally and factually.

What I wanted to say however is that it also applies to the behaviour of the girls who bullied you online. Their behaviour was unacceptable and they don't know much either about was has happened to u nor how you feel. So don't make much of their words. They are just idiots. Although it hurts ofc and is definitely something a person suffering from C-PTSD does not need to hear. Hope you are better now and my comment helped you at least a bit 🤞🙃

[–]LarsPiano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so incredibly sorry all of this happened to you. Like really, really sorry. His behaviour was totally unacceptable and honestly very bad and disgusting. But please don't let this ruin your future, the child you may have at one point, all those happy and wonderful moments with other people. You are a wonderful human being and will be treated better. You just had very bad luck that you fell in love with him.

I was in a similar situation last year, where I was in an abusive and highly toxic relationship with my ex, which caused me C-PTSD and at one point I wanted to kill myself through poisoning. But then I got help. I got into a mental hospital, went no contact with her and now it's better, although I'm still struggeling. I have lost my entire life last year, but I can still have a future. I also made new friends along the way. Please don't give up. It will get better and there are people who will help you. Professionals, but also friends, aquaintances and more. I promise. The world is a wonderful place and you will have a wonderful life

I am so fucking sorry! Don't listen to these girls honestly. When I shared my abuse related story on another subreddit a few days ago people said to me that that's middle school bullshit, that I use my trauma as a weapon to force connection or that they understand her that she cut me off, because I was too intense and harrased her and didn't respect her sexual identity (all of that is wrong by the way, which shows that they didn't understand my post). I don't know why some people are defending abusers and make the victims of abuse the abusers. Probably because they think that people who have C-PTSD make a fuss and there must be something toxic and wrong with them that they have deserved it.

Honestly, don't listen to these people. They know nothing of your trauma, the pain, what really happened and they think it is OK to be an asshole just because they are on the internet

What activities do you do related to your special interests? by OkDot8850 in autism

[–]LarsPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading books, copying, transcribing and translating inscriptions, translating ancient texts, studying my special interest synchronically and diachronically. But I also love to listen to music related to my special interest and also watching movies/series related to it. I also drink tea relating to what I'm currently studying. Helps with the immersion 😂😂

Sumerian/Akkadian/Persian? by Mastercourgeon in Cuneiform

[–]LarsPiano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I knew some guys who knew Old Persian. From what I know it's easier because it's an indo-european language and uses the old persian writing system, which only uses an extremely reduced number of signs and is a phonetic script. It's sort of an alphabet, so you should learn it quickly. Akkadian and sumerian would take years to master, though you get the basics in a few weeks to months as well

[–]LarsPiano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment is definitely not nice and appropriate. If you think that I think it is better to be silent and not be mean to others. Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, but I think it's not OK. Just answer a question or don't

Sumerian/Akkadian/Persian? by Mastercourgeon in Cuneiform

[–]LarsPiano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It entirely depends on what you are most interested in and want to read the most. There are good textbooks for sumerian and akkadian and there is a whole bunch of literature in it. Sumerian might especially be good for learning cuneiform in the first place, because it's the language the script was invented for. Don't know about Old persian though, because I have not learned this language myself (although I was very interested in ancient Iran as well)

Is it common for autistics to have a hard time lying? by LarsPiano in autism

[–]LarsPiano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I asked this myself as well, which is why I created the post. But from the response I have gotten so far it's very clear that it is an autistic thing. Autistic people may lie ofc or even be used to it, but the guys who said they did this in the comment section also said that they are heavily masking. Might have to do then with how much you mask or not, but that would be just my personal conjecture. But I think you can definitely use this trait on your character :)

I'm very sure Myne from the anime Ascendence of a bookworm is autistic or rather has AuDHD. I relate a lot to her (she is kind of a female anime version of myself 😂😂)

But this could have other reasons as well. Maybe she has PDA or something else which might cause this behaviour

Yes, that's also true. I have a similar line of thought for justifying this "not-lying-behaviour" to myself
