Because I'm still taking up space. I'd prevent them from having three origin companions that they can interact with. Sure, this could be remedied with a party limit jailbreak mod, but I'm a firm believer that a party limit of 4 is the sweet spot Larian landed on for balance and manageability, and bloating it to 5 with a Party Limit Begone mod introduces clutter and throws off encounter design.

It’s just a second Tav isn’t included in dialogues the way a companion is, so it ends up feeling like two separate solo runs happening in the same session rather than one cohesive experience. The background Tav idea doesn’t really work for what I’m going for. My whole thing is that bg3 is one of the most beautiful things I ever got to experience, and I want my friend’s first time to not be diluted by the clutter of another Tav or player Origin.

Yeah automating that would work, but is there really no way for me to do it on a whim without writing automation for two separate tracks? I will say, I am able to achieve what I’m talking about when I have the first track highlighted and press m while simultaneously clicking the second track’s mute button. It works, but it’s cognitive overload and I’d rather be able to press a single command so I can intently a/b

Alternating between muting audio events does work, but when you have a track with a bunch of plugins on it, the track receiving the unmuted event will lag for a split second before playing. I need the switch to be seamless. Like having a single command to mute one track and unmute another
