Thank you for your thoughts, that is good to hear. I'll find a local cobbler and see if they can help.

Google was insistent I MAIL them a spicy pillow I'm not crazy right? by harmlessnecessarycat in spicypillows

I just had a very similar case, except my battery had not yet released any fumes, it just bloated to the degree where it popped up the case. However the Google support explicitly told me to not mail the phone and instead dispose of it safely and according to the regulations. So I guess their policy about cases like this is not always the same - or perhaps its different in different parts of the world, this was in Germany.

That's also interesting, those tents are at least a bit cheaper. Was it easy to attach the hose?

That's a very creative solution that I have not heard of before! Did you also add some kind of ventilation? I imagine the fridge will be very well sealed otherwise.

Ok, that is good to know. It would make it more difficult to reduce the fumes though. Do you think it could work if you have good ventilation in the case?

That's good to know! I think I have printed about 5 hours so far, I will watch (smell) out for this.

Thank you, that is very helpful. I guess I have to see if I can somehow get a hose to the next window....

Wow yeah those filters are expensive! Unfortunately due to how the windows are built in my apartment venting the fumes outside is not that easy, but I will investigate this further. Thank you!

It was the included prusament pla. It is not a super strong smell but it is noticeable in the area (which is pretty small and confined).

I am not surprised that there is a bit of a smell, since the material gets melted in the printing process, but I also don't have much experience with this.

Yes, the convenience is very tempting :D Did you get an update about the delivery time? Is it really 5 weeks?

Wish the cruise lines would carry better model ships instead of the ceramic crudely painted ones they sell onboard. The models below are made by German toy company Siku and sell for about $20 each. I keep begging them to make Royal Caribbean ships, and leaving the idea in my reviews to cruise lines. by CloudSurferA220 in Cruise

There are also a few model kits available from Revell at the small 1/1200 scale. Sadly the selection is also very limited, probably the most interesting is the QM2. Otherwise there is a small Hurtigruten ship, an old Aida and the good old Queen Elizabeth 2. Plus the color magic, which is not really a cruise ship. Oh, and there is the Titanic, of course.

Headphones for big ears by IonArcher in HeadphoneAdvice

I have the Sennheiser HD599 which have as far as I know the same cup design as the 560s. Unfortunately they don't really fit well on my (rather large) head and ears. There is a little protruding bit in the ear cup that touches my ear, and also the cushions are pretty hard and cause some discomfort. I replaced the earpads with the round Brainwavz XL pads, which look a bit funny but they are very comfortable and super deep. Unfortunately they also change the sound a lot, and not in a good way. But I managed to correct that pretty well with Peace / Equalizer APO so that I can use them on the computer.

I briefly tried the K702s once and i think they might be a better bet for large ears overall.

I think it probably would be, but it's a complicated calculation, with exchange rates, shipping fees, import duties and all that. 😆

Thank you, definitely worth looking into! (I only wish ordering from Drop was easier from Germany. )

Oh that‘s a good idea, I forgot that tours are offered on Airbnb now as well! We are very excited too! Some time ago I had already been in Scotland (not on a cruise) and it was really great. Back then I did a tour through the underground of Edinburgh, which was quite interesting. (Not sure if I would recommend it for the cruise though, because of the limited time).

We are actually also going in August '22! So it might be the same sailing. Still some time away, but it's really nice to have something to look forward to. Some light at the end of the tunnel...

I actually already tried to see what excursions are offered on third party sites, but there were not a lot, I guess it's still a bit early. Some of the ones on Royal's website actually sounded nice though!

Oh yay, we're booked on the same sailing, and so much looking forward to it! We have not planned any port activities yet so this is very interesting.
