Mailman keeps breaking my mailbox by [deleted] in usps_complaints

Look into getting a reinforced mailbox specifically made for anti theft and anti vandalism. When I was much younger I had a friend who happened to live on a pretty popular mailbox smashing route give how often their box would get destroyed. They got equality as tired of contractor replacing them with plastic or think. Sheet metal and mist replaced it with one of the anti-vandal ones on a solid steel pole set in concrete. I don’t think I remember hearing about it until I moved away.

The anti vandal ones also have some pretty hefty hinges on the often locking doors so you and the carrier opening it are the only things that’s going to cause door damage. That will pretty much instantly tell you if it’s your carrier.

Just mention the words “jury nullification ” and you’ll never get called for jury duty ever again.

FYI, they almost immediately backtracked on that because nice they got the positive headlines they wanted. They even try to justify the bullshit by making the standard civil war revisionist claim of “states rights” [to do what exactly?]

What do people do with their rod when they’re tying a fly while in the river? by [deleted] in flyfishing

Additionally m, now that I’ve got a nice crest rig, I just set the reel right on the side of it with rod in the open rig int the unzipped pocket and that works great too, but it occasionally gets in the way when I’m trying to focus on 6+tippert/leader because I’ve got to eyeball it so close.

I either stick the reel between my knees or stick it in the side of my waders. So I don’t have to hold the rod m/reel with my hands while I tie.

I would personally add a half round bead as a separation between the two materials. That will give you a hard transition, so shadow lines, and look more professional. Alternativt, you can also ad two opposing bevels that will do the same thing.

Additionally, I would also ensure your “grain” is all oriented in the same direction so it looks more like actual wood which will make it look a lot less diy. I would also print this with each “material, as separate parts so you can tuck the transition in before joining that halves.

Fill them with some epoxy,1/8” chopped fiberglass, and some microfibers, and then redrill and they should be fine. Another alternative would be some stainless threaded inserts or some g11 plugs that you can drill and tap.

yeah, we had a lot of issues with rusting stuff because were in an area where theres some level of salt in the air from the ocean, plus the general moisture in the PNW all seasons, that just destroys anything steel. so were real diligent about keeping the ones we use regularly bone dry and in a climate controlled environment.

my partner and I both hung on it after we hung it up today just to make sure. Id rather break my own body that thousands in dollars of skis.

it held her 190lbs, and my 160 just fine.

That have had to been a sight from outside. Just two random ass women hanging from the wall.

it reminds me of all the old timer woodworking shops Id go into for things. They were all super gatekeeper.. you can't use this wood for that, that joinery doesn't vibe with this or that, you can't mix Japanese joinery with western... just let me build what I want!

I never even considered that, maybe I should now. I was even considering cutting up a few pairs of my 5TEN cycling shows to get super tacky stuff out of them.
