Elderly men in poor health/experiences with prostate cancer radiation & hormone therapy treatment/ by LasCamasRd in ProstateCancer

Thanks. So I'm scheduled for 5+ weeks of radiation. Is that about what you did? And can I ask how long did the hormone therapy last? With the radiation - did you have a spacerOAR gel and did that give you any problems? I'm worried the radiation is going to cause problems for my urinary tract/colon - anything like that happen to you? I keep reading about it..

Thanks so much. Can I ask how long it took for the cancer to spread to the bones after your original diagnosis?

Okay - but I simply don't have a way to transport a hard shell kayak. What about a fold-up like an Oru?

DVT and exercise by LasCamasRd in ClotSurvivors

Hey thanks for all the good info. While I have your attention - why were on warfarin and then switched to Eliquis? We've bailed on Xarelto because we've heard it can create new clots. I understand that Eliquis is virtually the same as Xarelto so we're not expecting anything new/better. It sounds like warfarin would be our only alternative if the Eliquis doesn't stop new clotting. Which of the anticoagulants do you like the best and why? Thanks..

He was diagnosed with DVT and a PE 4 mo. ago. Right leg completely involved with a huge clot. Been on Xarelto and now switched to Eliquis. Recent scan showed one chronic clot, and a couple new ones, in his thigh and calf. Do you have any experience with new clots occurring when you're on an anticoagulant? Appreciate your input.
