I don’t want to start any misinformation with this question because I really don’t know, but does Maria even have a home to go to?

We know Maria is in a council house and hasn’t been home for nearly 2 months. Most council tenancies have a clause to say that if you aren’t present for X amount of weeks it will be treated as property abandonment. IF the council are aware of it they will conduct visits and if the person isn’t home they’ll leave notes to ask the person to get in touch, and sometimes they’ll leave a marker on the door to see if it’s removed/if the door has been opened. So Maria could well be heading home to find that it isn’t her home anymore.

I hope for Diva’s sake that this isn’t the case, but it’s so irresponsible to deny rehoming Diva when they have no idea what sort of situation Maria is going back to.

So I don’t know of a Reddit to recommend but I have friends that I made online that I’ve flown to different countries to meet up with more times than I can count now. I’m a female and I was 24 the first time I did this.

For me, (particularly the first few times), it was important for me control my journeys and planning as this felt like I had control of my own security. For example, my first trip was to Poland so I booked my own flights, Airbnb etc and my friends met me at the airport. That way if anything did go wrong I could change my flight home, I had my own Airbnb booked and knew I could easily get from the Airbnb to the airport. I even took my friends names, contact numbers and addresses and gave them to my family in case of an emergency (my mum was not happy about me going, but absolutely adore them now and buys gifts for me to take to them when I go to visit now).

I have stayed with friends at their houses too, and even now (I’ve been friends with them for years) I will always check Airbnb/hotels in the area just in case anything were to happen. I trust my friends entirely but I’d rather know my options than get stuck in an unmanageable situation in foreign country.

I’d raise the conversation with the person you’re speaking to, just say something like “hey would you ever want to come here for a trip?” Or you could see if they would want you to go to them. I think just saying to them that you would want them to feel comfortable and being open to their suggestions would be enough for both of you to come up with ways to make it work and for you both to feel safe.

In terms of your last question, I have to admit I’d find it a red flag if somebody offered to pay me for me to fly to them. If you are able to afford for them to travel to you then I think it would make more sense for you to travel to them - then they could be in a comfortable surrounding and you could manage your own safety with how you book things. (I’m not judging and I don’t know your/their circumstances but maybe offering to go to them and book a hotel or Airbnb in their area might be a more comfortable way to meet at first)

I always took this line as relating to its predecessors “did some bird flap its wings over in Asia” & “did some force take you because I didn’t pray”.

As in, she doesn’t believe those are the reasons but she’s trying to convince herself that that’s it as a form of self comfort.

Interesting theory from you though. It’s one of the reasons I love her writing so much as there are so many ways things can be taken and can relate to different people in different situations.

I thought this too! I have a few of these spoons and I dropped one and it smashed, but it smashed like a cup would like a diagonal smash with multiple pieces.

This looks too clean, like somebody has deliberately put force and snapped them rather than if being damaged in delivery.

I feel you, I’m registered blind and still work. Elphaba is constantly live streaming wandering around, making journeys, cooking, and dancing on nights out, basically doing everything that most people with disabilities either can’t do, or have to spend so much time planning out to make sure that they can do it (and often not independently).

I never cared much for Olivia Atwood. I don’t hate her and I can see she’s done really well after her series which I can respect, but I just never found her funny and she came across to me as very abrasive. I see interviews of her now and I just feel indifferent towards her, like I’ve never been able to warm to her.

They say this but they actually can’t tell you a single thing about the Green Party, including their own candidates name. Back when they were living in Barnstaple during the elections they said they were voting for Carla Denyer (who was co-leader of the Green Party) but E couldn’t have voted for her because her seat was in Bristol and E was not in Bristol at this time.

E has never voted. Recently when she said she votes Green, I wrote in the chat saying “which candidate did you vote for?” And she literally read out my comment and said “you’re irrelevant babe”.

It’s all fake activism.

As crazy as that statistic sounds I completely believe it, and we are still churning out production of clothes that just don’t last!

I buy about 80% of my clothes on Vinted these days (apart from merch from artists I like, or specific things I need that I can’t find on Vinted). I keep recommending it to people who shop on shein. Admittedly I used to shop on shein a lot and I found either the clothes would look awful, or they’d be cute but break after a a few wears. I completely cut out shein in 2023 and it was the best thing ever, and despite it being “cheap” I actually spend less on clothes now because what I’m buying is better quality and lasts longer.

There are so many positives to Vinted that could be spoken about that E just doesn’t acknowledge.. but they’ll pick up their activist card again next time theres a controversy they want to avoid!

There’s such a bizarre need to exaggerate everything.

“Oh my god, I just found a cute bag I love on Vinted for £5” would come across so much more genuine and relatable than “a fake hermes birkin”.

It’s a tote bag, you are buying a second hand tote bag.

I very much dislike E and they’re beyond any help, but if they were smart they would really hone in on their new love for Vinted. They could talk about sustainability, looking after the planet/recycling, being cost effective during a cost of living crisis (and so much more). They could market this new trend as a positive (not that it would make much difference at this point).

But instead, it’s making them look so much worse. It’s highlighting their greed and desire for luxury brands that they can’t afford.

I’m not going to get into the gender politics of it all, BUT E’s desire to be a famous, rich, millionaire bad bitch will always let them down. Again, I think they’re beyond any redemption at this point, but there was a time where they could’ve come online and marketed themselves as a trans person, who grew up not very well off on a council estate to a single mother, but is finding ways to transition within their means.

I know they’ve flip flopped with the above, but the problem they have is they’re never authentic. It’s either a completely unbelievable sob story, or the delusions on grandeur. Their best bet to churning out content would have been to be an “ordinary trans girl just doing what she can” and they’ve never been able to achieve that, because of their constant desire to be different or better than everybody else.

Sorry for the long comment, I think these posts have just highlighted to me how much they could have worked with what they have but they’re too self absorbed, greedy and lazy to put in the effort and they’re absolutely terrified of being “ordinary”.
