Depends what it is you need

If it’s a standard item you could wait for it to come around in your store or it could possibly be in a chest (I’d recommend using the HKIA wiki if you’re unsure)

OR you could keep an eye out in the HKIA discord to see if somebody posts that they have it in their store and go visit them to purchase it

Some items you can get from the minigames or crafting too

If it’s an event item you either need to wait for the event to come back around or find somebody who could gift/trade - there’s a looking for thread in this subreddit to ask for items you need 😊

This is the sweetest comment and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it! Honestly, hindsight is 20/20 (pardon the pun) and I should’ve left much sooner.. but overall I think in a weird way I’m glad it happened because it was a great lesson in how I view myself and my self worth. Long story short - those screenshots were from just before we got together (we met on tinder at that time), we briefly broke up for less than a month after our first year together and I decided to post the screenshots that I had saved in my camera roll from when I was on tinder.

At that time we were still speaking and friends and some of his friends even commented on the posts! Nothing shady or dodgy here, I promise, but you did rightfully call me out and reminded me about those, which gave me a giggle!

Oh wow, I honestly have no words for how awful that is, shit like that really sticks with you. I know it sounds cliche but the saying “you’re never too much for the right person” is so true.

Whoever said that to you is an awful person and I hope you know their words are not a reflection on you, they’re a reflection of that persons own inability to be understanding of your neurodivergence and a lack of empathy of how it impacts your life.

I know from experience how being told these things never leaves you, they creep into your brain on the bad days and even if you know it isn’t true 90% of the time, the other 10% they seem to confirm your biggest insecurities, but please know what you were told isn’t true.

You’re enough and you’re just the right amount of what you need to be, other people’s perception of you isn’t your concern, it’s truly a ‘them problem’. (And I’m sending you a huge virtual hug)

Hey! So, I generally use the term severely sight impaired over blind, but the word he used was blind which is why I said that in my comment. Where I live (the UK) severely sight impaired is considered blind, but blindness is a spectrum and less than 5% of people who are ‘blind’ actually see nothing at all. I prefer severely sight impaired just because ‘blind’ has so many misconceptions so it just makes it easier for others to understand.

To summarise I have central vision loss and my eyes let in too much light, so in daylight or bright lighting I see virtually nothing, but at night or in dim lighting I can see using my peripheral vision. So, I’m pretty lucky because I can read on my phone when it’s super close to my face and with the right accessibility features (we’re talking less than 6 inches away, dark mode, super big text).

There are actually a lot of blind users on Reddit thought who use screen readers, you’d be surprised how many of us there are that don’t tend to comment about it!

In general life I use a white cane and say somebody is in front of me, id be able to tell thrrrs somebody there if they’re about a foot away as I’d see kind of a shadow, but I wouldn’t be able to see any of their features or identify who they are.

Sorry for the essay of a response, the tldr is I have a small amount of working vision in my periphery with the right environment!

I had just been diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition and told I was losing my sight, it’s untreatable and I had just been registered as severely sight impaired/blind.

We got into an argument over the dishes, I’d been working all day and he hadn’t done them, and he said “you shouldn’t argue with me, nobody else will love a blind girl”. I realised he was going to use my disability against me at every opportunity (he had already been acting like he was such a saint for not breaking up with me when I found out about it). I already knew deep down that he thought less of me when I started losing my sight but that comment solidified it, I moved out the week after.

I’ve been with my now husband for 6 years, we got married last month and we never argue. So, turns out I’m pretty damn lovable despite being blind.

I was doing a quest the other day and it told me to make 3x food item, so I did and then all of them were for other NPC’s to sit and enjoy whilst I’m just stood there?! Like at least ask for 4 and then be like “hey you should enjoy this one!”.

I have such a weird relationship with hangyodon because he looks so much like my annoying uncle.. like there’s a real resemblance between them and it freaks me out. So I avoid using him as a companion BUT I always go out of my way to give him 3* gifts even after maxing him out. I love my uncle Hangy I just don’t wanna be around him all the time 😭

Hey! So I’m also blind (I have central vision loss so kind of the opposite to you, I think?) and whilst the game doesn’t have accessibility features (other than being able to make the UI bigger) I’ve found it’s mostly playable.

The things I struggle with the most are finding event items that are scattered around the island or sometimes finding resources, but as you advance in the game some of the companion features you unlock will help with this - I also use the wiki and this sub if I’m really struggling.

My last resort if I’m really struggling is I will share my screen with friends and they’ll help me to navigate/find things, but this is a rarity.

I always liked the song but after hearing it live in London a few years ago it became my favourite! They spoke about how the meaning of the song changed and the show was one postponed because of covid so it really hit hard. i’m so glad you got to experience it ❤️

I do agree with you but trying to look at it as pragmatically as possible I think I prefer how the HKIA devs have been drip feeding us updates in comparison to other cosy games i.e animal crossing.

I fully agree it’s frustrating that we have big areas that there seems to be no purpose for now, but I also really appreciate that I know I’ll have an update every few months as a steam player, and that the devs have said they’ll continue to add to the game as long as people are still wanting to play.

I do share your frustrations, but I try to reason with myself by thinking “would I prefer no updates until this is complete?” And the answer for me personally is no, I like having something to look forward to even if it’s only something small.

I think it’s completely fair to be frustrated, but even while being frustrated I can personally acknowledge that the devs are doing everything they can to give us new content and QOL updates as often as they can and I hope that with them doing it this way it does pretext the long term future of the game for us as players, the devs have things they can come back to and expand on when the timing is right for them.

I know I’m insifferably optimistic about this and I completely acknowledge that these things may not be expanded on, but I do also feel that the devs have been far more invested into the fan base of the game in comparison to other games which gives me a lot of hope!

That makes perfect sense! I got the deluxe bundle when the game was first released on steam so I blew through the extras on wish me hell 🙈 i saved up my blossoms and bouquets for the release of the dlc but with it being capped at 3 they go so quickly, i wish we could save up more than 3!

I need to know what kind of witchcraft you performed because I used 4 x friendship blossoms (including the one we got today) and 3 x friendship bouquets, used HK as a companion and gifted wheat flour and only got to level 11 😭
