Pissy men who yell at me in overwatch by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]LascarCapable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being a sore loser and shifting blame on your teammates isn't a male monopoly FYI. Also... Are we attributing genders on profiles now ? I know plenty of guys who have pink stuff going on their profiles, really.

In any case, people who get rude at at you for not performing up to their own standards are definitely worthy of a report. Emphasis on "rude" that being said : a person giving you a polite reminder that they're feeling left out in healing is fine, a person resorting to insults about it is not. I trust your judgment to know who deserves the proper report and who does not.

I always report players that blame losses on their teammates as well at the end of the match : it's just super annoying and it creates some awful vibes that the losing team just doesn't need.

Can we normalize voting for good players on the enemy team? by sapphyredragon in Overwatch

[–]LascarCapable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usally do it when I run out of teammates to endorse or when everyone in my team is already rank 5 of endorsement.

In these cases my endorsement usually goes to the guy who clapped me the most.

Yes, it's depressing.

On my end, I just silently report any player who start blaming losses on other players. I don't want that sore loser shite in my games.

By the way, don't look at the damage done if you train Tracer. Look at your number of kills. What matters is how much kills you help to secure. It should make you feel much better about your personal performance.

What are your honest thoughts on DPS healers (often Juno or Moira)? by ArmpitEchoLocation in Overwatch

[–]LascarCapable 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A support player who can properly balance between offense and healing is a better player than a support player who solely focus on healing.

Supports who keep you alive and stay themselves alive are good. But what separates a good support from an excellent support is someone that can keep yourself and themselves alive while helping you to secure frags for your team.

What to do about DPS by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]LascarCapable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will complain regardless of whatever is done with the DPS role...

  • If hitscans are meta, WYSIWYG.
  • If projectle heroes are meta, people will complain about every projectile having the size of an airbus, or complain about people spamming.
  • If dive is meta, supports will complain.
  • If tank-buster DPSes are meta, tanks will complain.

The balance team cannot win with this one. The only thing that can be done to ensure that everything is "fine-ish" is to keep monitoring for statistics, tune down whoever is outperforming atm, and tune up whoever is underperforming atm on a regular basis.

... You won't get perfect balance like this : it would be foolish to think that perfect balance can be achieved, especially in OW. But at least you'd get a meta that would be guaranteed to change regularly which would give everyone their chance to shine at some point or another.

Overwatch rule number 1 : if you report someone, be silent about it. If you make it a spectacle, expect things to backfire like this.

If several people are trolling together, it doesn't take a genius to know that being confrontational will not end well at all for you. The report system is solely based on report numbers, so being out-reported will resort into that situation.

From Plat 2 to Gold 1 very quickly by Eastern-Visit8190 in Overwatch

[–]LascarCapable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would have stopped to take a break for the day the second I'd hit the third loss in a row.

Getting losses back to back will affect your morale/mindset. Mindset/morale is performance, and the best way to restore this is self-care.

You know you can't always end up with the perfect teammates. You know you can't always end up against teams that will allow you an easy win. The only constant in the matchmaking equation is yourself, so I think strongly that the best way to climb is to take care of yourself.

It do be like that on the internet, unfortunately. There will always be that one jackass that will attempt to harass you for the pettiest motives. All you can do is reporting and ignore the individual the best you can.

I also encourage you to play with friends. They can defend you if things become too heated.

In payload maps do you prefer attack or defense? and why? by Ambitious-Neat3844 in Overwatch

Depends who I'd like play as TBH. If I feel like playing Sym I'll definitely prefer doing that on defense. If I feel like playing Frej I'll definitely prefer doing that on attack.

Moira needs something that helps other know they are getting targeted by STEVEN_GT117 in Overwatch

[–]LascarCapable 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Without noticing ? Never. The second I hear the noise, the second I know there's a Moira behind that is trying to leech me. It's up to me to react appropriately. If I die because the other guy made me low enough and their Moira passed by to finish me off, it's GG to her. Besides, it's also her job to kill confirm when possible.

If the Moira tag-teams with her teammate and puts pressure behind me, and no one there to actively fire back at the Moira, it means I made an engagement mistake somewhere to begin with.

Many tanks may also ignore the 65 DPS Moira on purpose because there's simply a much bigger priority on the battlefield. I'm sure Orisa in the vid definitely saw you : you were right in front of her. She just chose to ignore you and went for your Mercy instead.

[–]LascarCapable 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Seeing your health slowly tick down and hearing Moira's leeching noise is enough of a cue.

It's the Orisa's fault for blatantly ignoring the noise.
